Stephanie Tanner, now 17, sang happily as she waltzed into the Tanner kitchen.
"Why are you all excited?" 13 year old Michelle asked gloomily,
"Brett asked me out today." Stephanie said, grinning.
"Why are you so gloomy? What, listen to a depressing Blink 182 song or something?" Stephanie joked, seeing the deathly stare on Michelle's face she stopped smiling.
What Stephanie joked about was not out of the blue. Michelle has changed a lot since 1995. She now likes rock and heavy metal music and has band posters up all over her own room, which she has since DJ went to college.
Her room (Stephanie and Michelle's old room) was redecorated by Vicky, her stepmother's mom, Liz Larson. Her crew painted the walls with black and dark, dark purple vertical stripes and her pictures and posters were splattered on the walls. One particular picture always caught Stephanie's eye.
It was a blasted up Polaroid picture of her, Aaron, Denise, Teddy, Derek and Lisa together. It's not the amazing amount of people squished in front of a small Polaroid camera that interests Stephanie, but rather, what they're doing in the photo.
Teddy and Denise weren't looking at the camera, but instead looking at each other affectionately, holding up their linked hands, Derek and Lisa were snuggling, Lisa flashed a bright grin but Derek unfortunately sneezed right at the exact moment.
Meanwhile, Michelle and Aaron weren't doing anything that intimate. Aaron had his arm around Michelle and was staring at her like she was the last cookie in the jar, while Michelle barely noticed and flashed a happy smile to the camera.
The picture was at least one year old, because nowadays, to get Michelle to smile like that, you'd have to tickle her, Stephanie thought, I guess it's just the teen years…
What also made her think was how much 8th grade has changed, sure, Steph herself used to go on dates, but these kids were like Gia; probably having make-out parties when their parents left the house.
"See for yourself," Michelle said as she dragged her arms up and handed Steph her math test.
"Michelle, you got an F? Dad's going to freak!" Stephanie exclaimed as she looked at the paper while sliding into the stool beside Michelle.
"Who cares, Steph, oh, do me a favour, please tape this on the fridge with duct tape. I want dad to see." Michelle said with a smirk, she then left the kitchen, leaving Stephanie in awe of this. Steph was a teenager herself, but she'd never be so bold and do something like this.
