A/N This is something I wrote a while ago for a 10-word challenge elsewhere...I tried to be as concise as possible, and I have to say I'm quite happy with it...Enjoy!
It happened one slightly cloudy night in a dark alley, not long after midnight, that by pure chance two piercing gazes should meet; one icy-blue, the other emerald-green. Two passionate souls shared an intense moment quite unlike anything of their experience. They stared at each other silently and they liked what they saw. Suddenly the adverse force that had initially driven them to enmity seemed pointless, and their later grudging indifference childish. The smaller figure tentatively reached out and pushed back the other youth's hood, baring a long shaggy mass of tangled black hair to the cool night air. From the depths of his cowl he smirked, and his teeth shone momentarily in the pale moonlight. The emerald-eyed youth grinned back and stepped forward, taking advantage of their new-found freedom. Shoving his old rival against the rough brick wall, he brought their lips together. A sudden cloudburst and they were almost instantly soaked. They clung together desperately, and they both knew their indifference and hate had all been an act, albeit a necessary one.
They stood in the rain, two limber bodies pressed together, content in each other's warmth, and comfortable in the knowledge that they now had the time to express their passion.
