Hollyleaf padded through the lush StarClan forest. After the Great Battle had happened, StarClan's hunting grounds had turned back to normal. As Hollyleaf entered a clearing, she saw a group of apprentices. The young cats' voices drifted over to her ears.
"ShadowClan has the best fighting tactics," boasted Smokepaw, "We can fight in almost near darkness and no cat can tell we're coming."
Duckpaw of RiverClan challenged," So what? Can you swim? RiverClan is the only clan that can swim."
"We all know that RiverClan is a bunch of cowards. You hide behind your river. Everyone knows that WindClan fights the noblest; out on the moor where everyone can see them," Gorsepaw argued.
Swiftpaw proclaimed," Well, all of you can shut up, 'cause you are all wrong. ThunderClan fights best. Our leaders are always coming up with new battle tactics to keep our enamies surprised."
"Yeah, the rest of you are boring. You just use the same moves over and over again," Shrewpaw announced.
Hollyleaf meowed," Calm down, you five. Every clan has something to offer in battle tactics. Listen to this:
"Crouch like the shadow
Rush like the river
Run like the wind
Cry like the thunder
Forget where your heart lies
Use all four or you may die
"It's a warning. It tells cats that not one way is right. Every battle requires different strategies and moves. If you learn from the other clans, you can win."
With that, the starry black cat left, leaving the five apprentices to mull over her words.
Duckpaw was the first to break the silence. "She's right," she mewed," We should train together."
Duckpaw is a RiverClan apprentice mentioned in Battles of the Clans. The story she is in happens somewhere around the end of Omen of the Stars. Since she isn't mentioned in the Allegiances, one must assume she died. Poor Duckpaw was forgotten :'(, though her brother, Rushpaw, was not.
