A/N: As much as I love SasuNaru as a pairing I wanted to write something for their friendship. This is for Simone, because even though she'll never admit it, she knows we are exactly like this.

Disclaimer: I don't own Sasuke or Naruto.

The rain poured heavily over the village as a blond haired boy walked gloomily along the empty streets. The rain drenched him thoroughly and the wind blew his hood off his head. He didn't seem to care and continued to walk as if his world wasn't being ripped apart.

Nothing is okay anymore.

He ignored the pang he felt in his chest. What does it matter anyway? He was a monster being accused of many crimes that he could not recall committing. So what did it matter if the beating of his heart would suddenly stop?

There is nobody.

He stopped dead in his tracks to take a look around him.

There is nobody… so… alone.

He lowered his head and just continued to walk. He could do nothing else.

So…alone.

The dark haired boy ran along the side of the road, occasionally throwing his head over his shoulder to see if anybody was there even though he knew that he would not be followed. His breath came out ragged and his face was flushed from all the running. He didn't care and just continued to dash through the village as the rain poured down and drenched him.

You have nobody.

He was tired and his back ached, but he didn't stop. He couldn't stop running. The raven-haired boy was running forward for something completely out of reach. He didn't care if he suddenly stopped breathing. He had nobody. He lived to revive a past that he knew he could not have back.

What is gone can not be brought back

His hands shot up to cover his head in an attempt to make his thoughts stop spinning so fast in his mind. His pace faltered and he stumbled slightly, but immediately pulled himself back up and took off again as if his world hasn't been torn away from him.

So… empty

The blond noticed another figure racing down the opposite side of the street from the corner of his eye. He didn't want to care, but did anyway and came to a sudden stop at the same time the other did. A car drove by, sending puddles of water splashing towards them when they slowly turned to face each other, throwing hesitant glances of understanding. Naruto crossed the street without caring for any passing cars.

"Sasuke." He whispered, said boy stiffened for a moment.

"Naruto."

They stood side-by-side, shoulders just barely touching. No words were spoken. They didn't need words; they were already at a complete level of understanding.

I have to say... I was not proud of this one at all. I think I need to improve my writing skills in some way. Any suggestions?
