FORBIDDEN LOVE
2 Sonnets, the first written by Aaron, the second by Spencer
Sonnet 1 For Spencer
There is a young man I have come to know.
He showed me how to live my life with joy.
I think of him, this pale and perfect boy,
My heart within me swells, with love o'erflows.
He taught me how to play and laugh and sing,
And build castles on the desert sand,
To play on distant shores, as hand in hand
A special joy to each of us we bring
But oh! This hated and forbidden love
From other men forever we must hide
And keep this wonder locked away inside
And ne'er our love will have a chance to prove.
So as we keep these feelings locked away,
It's in our hearts we sing and laugh and play.
Sonnet 2 For Aaron
The strength and wonder of your special touch
Keeps me safe as I fall through my life.
You rescue me from pain and hurt and strife
You're always there, while others only watch.
You protect me from the voices in my head.
You have tamed the demons of my mind.
Your love for me my madness redefined.
Without you in my life I would be dead!
So sadly others do not understand
You showed to me a better way to live
How you can show me beauty as you give
A soft and gentle touch of your sweet hand.
And so although our love cannot be free,
You keep me safe, sane in insanity.
