Yet everyday the Fire Lord sipped the bittersweet tea without reluctance.
He craved the liquid.
The tempting aroma. Power.
The balanced, yet smooth to the touch cup. Iroh.
The searing hot liquid that kept flowing until the last drop was confronted and swallowed. Failure.
Truly it was the perfect cup of Jasmine Tea.
Ursa
She was never one to be tempted by rage.
Then why does the Lady of Fire only brew the chosen tea?
She desired the beverage.
Every pot cured the heart of forgotten memories of love. Zuko.
Every cup cleared the mind of the undesired. Azula.
Every sip reclaimed the passion. Ozai.
Ravaging the broken, savoring the past.
She was truly content with the brew of Jasmine Tea.
Zuko
Confusion wasn't unknown to the banished prince.
He needed the hot leaf juice.
Never knowing why the only person that cared left him. Ursa.
Why the one that he was supposed to care for was tainted. Azula.
How the man that was supposed to care for him, didn't give a damn. Ozai.
Everything was wrong.
Anger was his solution.
The soothing taste was the restraint.
Overall Jasmine Tea was truly a gift from Uncle.
Iroh
Death is a sadist, suicide the accomplice.
Suicide is what took his wife and son.
She burned herself alive.
He went off to battle unprepared. Lu Ten.
Both before his eyes.
His comfort was in the form of a drink.
Subtle, Simple, Serene.
Everything life should be.
Everything the Dragon of The West was denied.
He didn't want Jasmine Tea.
He truly deserved Jasmine Tea.
Azula
She is a weapon.
Reminded daily by the beautiful flames that are uniquely hers.
Planning for the future, never dazed by the past.
Controlled by her own honor.
Damaged by no tragedy.
She applies Jasmine perfume on her pure pale flesh and moves on with her life.
Jasmine Tea never graced her lips.
That evening when the Royal Family sipped their Jasmine Tea.
They died by poisoning.
A true smile graced the face of the only survivor.
Azula truly used Jasmine Tea.
