Tick, Tick, Tick,

The smoke from his cigarette curled into the air. Neji took a final drag before flicking the butts into the waste bin. He heaved a heavy sigh and pulled out a golden pocket watch from a case. It was a present for his leader, an exquisite piece of the finest handicraft. He gripped it tightly.

This watch would be the thing that brought him to his demise. Madam- no, Hinata would surely like it but it was not the watch's aesthetic appeal that worried him, it was the bomb hidden within it that did. Beneath its golden exterior lay a bomb ready to self-destruct at the press of a button. The watch had been given to him by the leader of a rivaling gang with the intention of doing away with Hinata. As an award for cooperating he would receive a generous sum of 100,000 enough to pay for his ailing Father's operation. He would not let Hizashi die. The thought of his father blind and weak, with tubes sticking out from all over his body made him sick. Neji would do whatever it took to save him. But Hinata…

Tick, Tick, Tick,

He slipped the watch back into its velvet case and walked towards the restaurant.

If he was away too long the others would become suspicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was festive and merry. It was the madam's birthday and gang members from all over had come to pay their respects and give their gifts. Expensive jewelry, antique guns, she accepted them all with a smile. Neji glanced at her from across the room. Clad in a scarlet dress, she stood out in the tuxedo filled room. The swastika tattooed across was her collar bone was the only indication of her status. Naïve and innocent, the madam never quite fit in. She had been forced to take over after her father died and it was apparent that she wasn't accustomed to the life of a mob boss filled with crime, smuggling and manipulation.

Orochimaru's words echoed through his head as he made his way through the room "100 thousand dollars, 100 thousand dollars if you give her that watch". Hinata smiled amiably at Neji as he approached. She pressed an envelope to his hand.

"For your Father." She said, "

A wave of guilt washed through him. Inside the envelope was a check for 100,000 dollars.

Neji took a deep bow, "I'm sorry I cannot accept this" he replied, "Please excuse me"

He exited the room with haste; he knew what he had to do.

Tick, Tick, Tick,

Hinata stared vacantly at the smoldering remains of the head quarters of her rival. She had received notice that the whole building had been brought down by an explosion and had rushed their immediately. "Good Riddance." She muttered, and turned to leave. A golden gleam caught her eye and she stopped abruptly. She walked closer to get a better view. In the midst of the rubble lay the charred remains of a golden pocket watch.
