A Brief Introduction
David thundered down the staircase, crashing into a hat stand at the bottom, "stupid place to put a hat stand" he thought to himself as he swung around and headed for the kitchen. Not realising his mother had just been cleaning he slipped on the damp linoleum and skidded sidewise into a chair, which fortunately caught him, though quickly tipping over leaving the young boy sprawled hopelessly across the floor. His father looked up from the day's copy of The Daily Prophet, seeing nothing above the level of the paper; he went back to the previous days quidditch reports. "Good morning David, you're just in time for breakfast, todays a big day for you, make sure you get plenty to eat. I don't want my little boy going hungry while he is away at Hogwarts."
A small creature, almost human-like, but only 3 feet tall and with hugely out of proportion eyes and ears waddled into the room. It looked like it was struggling under the weight of a large tray of food, of course this was just for effect, this particular house elf had a touch of a rebellious streak in him and wanted his masters to know, even though he was perfectly capable of carrying that tray using a simple levitation spell but he liked to feel he was making a point. David picked himself up and brushed himself down, and pulled up another chair, slumping down in it just as his mother walked in, "Don't slouch David" she said as she began nudging the elf with her toe "come on, get a move on, my boy needs all the energy he can get, he has a big day ahead of him."
David was getting fed up of this by now, he understood most parents would be excited about their only son heading off to one of the top wizarding schools in Europe, but with them it had become an obsession, an obsession since before he was even born. David had only been brought into this world for one reason, and now his parents were closer than ever to fulfilling their own dream, fulfilling the prophecy laid down by the great Salazar Slytherin so many years ago.
