A Hit By: Trivette Lover Heather

Just a Short one here. Enjoy!

Hawkeye Pierce wasn't any ordinary surgeon. But then again the Korean war wasn't any ordinary police action.

But for a short time in history, the two met.

It was a muggy afternoon when the Captain first heard the soon to be familiar voice over the PA system.

"All surgical staff...which means everyone in camp, with the exception of the cook, please report to the Mess tent for the first of Lt. Col. Henry Blake's monthly lectures. Attendance is unfortunately required. That is all."

The black haired man sat up on his cot and looked over at his bunk mate who had just sat up as well.

"Aw, how come the cook gets to miss it...?" Hawkeye offered up the question while slipping on his boots.

"Think maybe he's got better things to do." Trapper replied standing tall.

"Yeah well so do I...back home in Maine, and you don't see me missing out the first of the monthly lectures now do you?" He finished and flung open the door to the SWAMP heading to the Mess Tent.

"Yo wait up." His friend called jogging slowly behind.

The two surgeons entered the mess and quickly sat down. The chatter was high above a dull roar and the commanding officer started to realize the monthly lectures weren't going to be all he had hoped for.

"Men ...and ladies...listen up! This is some important stuff I gotta tell ya here...hello...settle down...this is important stuff....will you settle down...McIntyre I said settle down...this is important stuff..."

"Why do I get the feeling this is some important stuff?" Hawkeye asked his friend pulling him away from the nurse next to him.

"Now listen up or I'm confining all of you to your tents permanently!" He almost screamed the last word and a hush fell over the tent. After thinking about it they knew there was no way Henry would do such a thing, but at just the mere thought crossing his mind terrified everyone there.

"Now that's better. I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome all of the members of the 4077th. It is our goal to be the best surgical unit in Korea, and I have no doubt in my mind we can achieve it."

"I don't remember voting for that goal." Hawkeye quipped and with a glare from Henry fixed his eyes straight ahead.

"A lot of bodies are going to come through here, they'll be our boys, villagers from around the area, kids and even some from the other side."

"I for one refuse to operate on anyone from the other side." Frank Burns added with a nod of his head.

"Sure am glad I'm on his side of the tent Henry." Hawkeye grinned.

"We should all go home and just let Frank win the war for us by operating on North Korea." Trapper added causing Frank to storm out of tent, in turn causing the entire tent to cheer.

"We're a hit." Hawkeye concluded looking over at his friend.

"Sure seems that way to me."
