This story just sort of spilled out of my head when I was reading a Facebook conversation between two of my friends. This is a highly exaggerated retelling of real-life events. Umm... so review! And stuff... I pretty much own it all, just not the characters' names. :) Oh, and a huge shoutout to my Beta DarthAbby!
OOOOOOO
"I am so sorry. I said you wouldn't get hurt. And now I have no idea if you're even going to... God. I am so sorry. And I know you can't hear me, but I wish with everything inside of me that it could be me in the coma instead. Or even if I could have been there to help you; I could have done something. Anything.
"God, Tori, what am I going to do without you? ...You were always so strong. It's weird looking at you weak like this. You look... frail. How is it that something as little as a flight of stairs could take you down?
"Is it something I did? I mean, I could have, should have, been there when you were giving blood. But no, I just had to leave and go to class. I wanted to stay and hold your hand, I could tell you were nervous. But you probably wouldn't have let me. We're just friends, anyway. I can't believe I never got the chance to tell you, and maybe now I never will.
"Wake up, Tori. For me. Please.
"Doctor says the impact put you in a coma. You were fine after giving blood, but you passed out on the stairs, and... fell.
"It's playing over and over in my mind. Your smiling face telling me to go away and stop being a baby—you'd be fine. You sitting in the chair, texting with one hand. Me turning around and walking out. Even what I wasn't there for: you groaning at the nurse for missing your vein a million times. You getting up and taking the orange juice they offered. You walking out, insisting you're fine. You heading down the stairs, feeling light-headed. You pausing, your legs wobbly. You finally falling, your book bag slipping. And you landing, sprawled on the floor, blood surrounding your head.
"That godless staircase will always be there as a reminder for me. It can't beat you. Please wake up.
"You know you have to pull through, right? There are so many people here who love you. Cat and Jade, remember them? They're your best friends. You three are inseparable. Your boyfriend, Thomas. I may hate his guts, but you love him, and he's good to you. I'm sure he'll miss you. Trina, your parents. That house would be empty without you. And me? I have no idea how I would go through life without you there. Wake up, you fool!
Don't leave me here."
