My first attempt at writing NaruSasu…just a little drabble-y thing. They're older in this fic, after Sasuke has presumably come back to Konoha and all that. Oh, and I know that the sunflower thing is really clichéd, so I hope it's not too bad. The character's of course belong to Kishimoto.
Smile, You Bastard!
"C'mon, teme!" Naruto grinned, squeezing Sasuke's hand. "You have to admit it's romantic!" With his other hand he gestured to the field, more like forest, of sunflowers in which they were walking. "We have it all to ourselves!"
Naruto stopped walking and with a small smile he reached out to touch Sasuke's cheek, but Sasuke wriggled out of his grasp. "Dobe. How could something as bright and annoying as you be considered romantic?" he answered coolly, despite a faint blush. One corner of his mouth was twitching.
"Aw, Sasuke, don't try to deny it! I know you like them," Naruto beamed and punched Sasuke gently in the arm, pulling him closer as they continued walking in the shade of the enormous yellow flowers.
"I saw you looking at that bouquet of them in Ino's shop last week and you were actually smiling! You thought no one saw you, but I did." Naruto's expression became thoughtful and he lowered his voice without realizing it. "You looked so…sweet." Sasuke's mouth twitched again. "Like you were really happy right then."
The Uchiha continued to stubbornly wear his standard this-conversation-is-too-stupid-for-me-to-take-part-in expression. Naruto looked faintly reproachful. "You never smile like that for me. I want you to, Sasuke! Aren't you happy when you're with me too?"
"So you were jealous of the sunflowers?" Sasuke deadpanned, his eyebrows raised in a bored expression.
Naruto glared at him. "No, I wanted you to smile again so I brought you here! Just smile, you bastard!"
"…No."
"Yes!"
"I don't smile. This is pointless, dobe."
"What is?"
"Arguing with you!"
"No! It's very point….ful." Naruto looked confused for a minute. "Because….the point is to make you smile! It's got a point!"
"Shut up! I would rather kiss you already and be done with it!" Sasuke growled.
Naruto turned bright red. "What! You can't say that out loud people might – oh yeah, we're alone. Well you're in a bad mood today!"
"I'm not in a bad mood, dobe…" As Naruto felt Sasuke's lips pressed to his, they curved slowly upwards.
