It was many and many a year ago,
In my kingdom by the sea,
That a demigod there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabeth Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a demigod and she was a demigod,
In my kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabeth Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In my kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabeth Lee;
So that her highborn mother came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulcher
In this kingdom by the sea.
The gods, not half so happy on Olympus,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabeth Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the gods on Olympus above,
Nor the creatures down under the sea,

Of the beautiful Annabeth Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams

We had to read this poem in class and Gazm said how the name Annabel reminded her of Annabeth. Then my friend DGITC commented how Edgar Allen Poe should be Edgar Allen Percy. Lol so...yeah. R&R
