...and there was a humble great silence. It filled them all, all who
had. The did just that, they had each other and they were still alive.
They had each other and the silent void, and they lived. Words were not spoken, they were not needed nor could they ever fully explain these trivial events.
It seemed an eternity before anyone moved. Their shadows had long since stretched and dripped away with the honey-dewed flaming sunset. To those left, it appeared to be the first sunset ever scene with their reborn eyes. It quaked over soot glanced faces.
A breath of cold wind arose to sweep over theirs forms and the sand rooted Californian plains. The last peaceful passion rays sighed and Dawn shivered. This jumble of warriors for that is their word, strayed in fews up the stairs of Sunnydales last legacy. A cheerful yellow dust entrenched school bus.
All the warriors sat zombie like in the bus. Buffy stood, still staring at the void where she had spent eight years of her life.
And when Xander croaked "You can sleep on the bus, Willows still magic buzzy. The only one of us left who doesn't look like they could sleep for a hundred years. Shell drive." A moments pause, then. "Buff?" He questioned.
"I just can't believe it's all gone. Like Poof!" Buffy shuffled her feet and scanned the horizon.
Xander brightened a little. "Its not all gone." He said as he stumbled down the voids ridge. Buffy snapped into reality out of her endless thoughts, and squeaked, "Xander?!?"
"You goof! Are you blind? It's all gone..."
And with a much manly display of clumsiness he trooped back up dragging something bent and heavy. Panting "And just so we are clear, blind in ONE eye and not deaf or dumb, thank you Mame!" As he raised his beaten prize. The Sunnydale Town sign.
A silly prize but it was a good thing he rustled it up because Sunnydale had disappeared. Literally.
There was no news reports, no emergency crews and it had vanished from every map. Dawn continued to check faithfully at every pit stop even though Buffy told her it was pointless. The road just ended there. Like it has never existed at all.
The battles, losses, triumphs, passions, heart break, evils, heroes, demons, witches, vampires and slayers. Gone.
But there future found. It happened to second night post Sunnydale. Faith staring out the window, Robyn sleeping dreamlessly with his head in her lap.
Authors note – I do not really know where this is going, I know I would like Spike to appear in a dream or something.... Suggestions are joyfully welcome. Long live the electric bunny! I do not own anything not even this computer.... Smiles.
