Battle of the Slifers and Obelisks

The Slifers and Obelisks, everyone knows,

Are proud, and implacable, passionate foes!

It's always the same, wherever one goes,

But the Ra Yellow coats, although most people say,

They do not like fighting, yet once in a way,

They now and again join into the fray!

And they

Duel! Duel!

Until you can hear them all over the school!

Now, one afternoon while the school was on break,

Nothing really had happened, but time's all it takes!

The campus police were away from their beat,

I don't know the reason, but most people think

They slipped into the cafeteria for some drinks.

And no one at all stood out in the day's heat,

When a Slifer and an Obelisk happened to meet!

They did not advance, or exactly retreat,

But they glared at each other and planted their feet.

And started to

Duel! Duel!

Until you could hear them all over the school!

How they

Duel! Duel!

Until you could hear them all over the school!

Though the Slifer Red duelists may say what they please,

You'll never find students as tight-knit as these!

And so the Slifers, when they heard the uproar,

They jumped out their windows, and rushed out their doors!

There was surely 100, 200 or more!

And together they started to shuffle their decks,

Those Obelisk students stood no chance in heck!

But an terrible brawl is what Obelisks like,

So they too shuffled cards and prepared for the fight!

So the Blues got their comrades, the beatdowns and burners,

And everyone else with decks built for red murder.

And so they stepped out, with their blazers a flowin'

There'd be no escape where those Slifers were goin'!

Then the Ra Yellow coats, held no longer aloof,

Standing on the balcony, and on the roof,

Joined in and proceeded to

Duel! Duel!

Until you could hear them all over the school!

Time to duel, make your move!

Make your move

Now!

Until you could hear them all over the school!

Now when these bold heroes together assembled,

The flow of time stopped and the ground beneath trembled!

And some of the teachers were so much entranced,

They stood there and watched in a hypnotic trance!

And finally when the first duels had begun,

Why who should emerge?

'Twas the Great White Dragon!

Its eyes were like thunderbolts, fearfully gleaming.

It's owner stood by it, her dark hair streaming.

And when she looked out at the duelists in the area,

You never saw anyone fiercer, or scarier!

And what with her glare of her eyes and the roaring,

The Slifers and Obelisks quickly took warning!

The beast took to the air and gave a great roar,

And every last duelist ran back through their doors!

And when Campus Police had returned to their beat,

The field was tranquil as a country street!

All hail and all bow to the Great White Dragon!!!
