"No-no-no-no! Don't do that!" He picked the one-year-old off of his lap before the boy could pull a stack of papers from the desk. He really didn't want to have to organize those... again. Maybe offering to take the kid off of his wife's hands for the day wasn't the best idea, especially on a day when there was so much paperwork he had to fill out. As Hokage, Naruto could have easily gotten someone to watch him, but he wanted to prove to himself that he could be a great father to this little one.

The child was a ball of energy, just like his father, and it was just so hard to keep him sitting still. After all, he couldn't be throwing his father's papers about. He had already managed to knock his father's hat off and stain his father's shirt with baby food. "Ah! Don't cry!" Naruto exclaimed as the little one squirmed about in his grip, whimpering. The man stuck his tongue out, making a silly expression, and before he knew it the boy was smiling again and trying to grab his face.

He let out a sigh of relief. This kid sure was a handful, and it was a hazard to keep a hyper baby near the desk with so many important documents. The Hokage rose from his chair with his son in tow and set him in the middle of the room. The baby blinked about while Naruto fished out a few blank pieces of paper and a bottle of ink. "Here, draw," he smiled, handing the boy a calligraphy brush before heading back to his desk.

Only a minute later and a suspicious sound of clattering of glass and loud, joyous giggling caught Naruto's attention again. His precious one year old was now playing with a puddle of ink, his hands stained the darkest shade of black. "What are you doing?" he cried, flailing his arms. In hindsight, giving him that wasn't the best idea, was it?

But his son ignored him and continued to look down at his chubby, inky fingers curiously. Naruto just prayed the baby didn't want to know what ink tasted like. Instead, the little one wiped his fingers across his face, making three lopsided lines over each cheek. Then he looked at Naruto's surprised expression and giggled while clapping his hands together.

Maybe it was a good thing he was such a handful.
