Fiona Glenanne breathed in slowly, unable to focus on anything but the man in front of her.
Michael McBride smiled and gently brushed a strand of auburn hair away from her face. She was absolutely stunning, and for the first time in years, possibly ever, he found himself falling head over heels for the young Irish woman.
They were standing outside of her mother's home, just enjoying a few peaceful minutes before he went in with her to meet her entire family. He wasn't exactly thrilled about it, but it was important to Fiona. That made it important to him. He was never supposed to let things get this far, but with her, he couldn't help himself. It had only been a few weeks, but he knew exactly how he felt about her, even if he hadn't found the right way to say it yet.
Closing the distance between their bodies, Fiona leaned up and wrapped her arm around Michael's neck. Then she kissed him sweetly.
A raindrop hit her head as he returned the kiss, and before they realized it, they were drenched by a sudden downpour. Groaning, Fiona grabbed his hand. "Let's get inside!" she called over the rain.
Michael nodded, and they raced up to her mother's front door. But before Fiona opened the door, Michael stopped her.
"What is it, Michael?"
"This." He kissed her again, this time with more passion and desire.
Fiona groaned and pressed herself tightly against him. He knew all of her buttons to push, and he liked to push them simultaneously. But damn if he wasn't good at it…
Michael threaded his hand through her damp tendrils. Then he reluctantly broke the kiss and rested his forehead against hers.
"Are you ready, Michael?"
"Ready as I'll ever be."
His Irish brogue sent a shiver through her, but before she could kiss him again, the front door opened.
"Here goes nothing…"
The End!
