Hello! I was bored and wrote this. Enjoy!
As the sun rose over the Mushroom Kingdom, all the toads and other citizens in the kingdom were all cozy in their warm, soft beds. All except Yoshi, who was awoken from his slumber by a grumble from his stomach. He was really hungry.
Yoshi stretched and got out of what he called his bed, a few straws, sticks and other odds and ends. He began his way outside into the crispy morning. Shivering and being able to see his breath, he regretted not having something warmer to put on, but he trudged along anyway. His tummy needed food.
After walking for a bit and not finding anything to eat, Yoshi was getting exhausted. He stopped, exhaled, and felt the sudden pitter-patter of rain on his head. Annoyed with how drenched he was becoming, his eye caught a really tall tree. Perfect! He could stay there until the rain stopped! Yoshi ran underneath the giant tree, satisfied that he had someplace that he could be dry, but dejected that he had not yet accomplished his goal of finding something to eat. Yoshi looked up and spotted something in the tree that made his eyes go wide. One lonely apple was to be seen up there.
Food! This day was just getting better and better.
He heard his stomach growl loudly, which made him groan. If his tummy didn't shut up, he would not be satisfied. Happy to see the glorious food from the tree, he shot his tongue out of his mouth, hoping to finally fill his stomach. Unfortunately for Yoshi, he barely missed the apple, and his tongue came crashing down. Looking up at the piece of fruit with sadness in his eyes, he was determined to try again as his stomach kept screaming. He had to get some food soon.
Yoshi kept shooting out his tongue again and again only to have kept failing. When the rain stopped, Yoshi sprinted out from beneath the tree and went back to the tree a while later with a brick. He threw the brick down on the ground, kicked it, and a giant vine grew out. Yoshi climbed the vine and made it to the top. Reaching out his hand to grab it, he was only inches away from having that delectable snack in his stomach.
A smile crept on his face, although his tummy's angry cry wiped the grin away. He still had work to do. Unfortunately, Yoshi made the mistake of looking down. He was so high up, which made him become petrified and dizzy. Vertigo began to take over his senses. Losing his balance, he gripped onto the vine tighter, but because Yoshi was so lightheaded, he couldn't hang on for too long, and ended up sliding all the way down the vine onto the ground.
Scared to death to try climbing the vine again, he resorted to his first strategy and kept flinging his tongue up to the fruit. He didn't realize that while he was attempting to get the apple, the sun was now shining in the upper west part of the sky. It was early afternoon. Yoshi wiped the sweat from his brow, disappointment filling him. He wanted to quit, but he was starving and determined to get this piece of fruit. Yoshi attempted to get the apple until the sun began to set, still not accomplishing anything.
Yoshi sighed, starving and atrabilious, as he bonked his head in depression against the tree. Suddenly, a whole bunch of apples fell from above and hit Yoshi on the head. He beamed, a twinkle in his eye, as he picked up an apple and ate it happily. Soon, all the apples under the tree were gone, and the only thing left to be found underneath the tall tree was a sleeping, content Yoshi.
