Spoilers: This is set in season six, before Hell's Bells, before I knew Tara was in the wedding. So if you haven't seen the episodes that lead up to Hell's Bell's I wouldn't read it.

Disclaimer: I still own nothing. These characters all belong to Joss, not me.

Eternal Love

"It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be." Willow screamed over the loud music at the reception.
"Yeah, but when 'an anonymous person' let the bunnies go, and Anya was screaming for her life was pretty funny." Dawn said trying not to laugh, again.
"So, you knew it was me. If you don't tell, I won't tell Buffy that you read her diary?"
"You got a deal." Dawn said as she and Willow shook hands. "So, did you see Tara?"
"She's here!?! Really!" Dawn nodded, "no, I didn't!" Willow said, upset that she didn't see her.
"She's right over there. Maybe you should ask her to dance?" Dawn said trying to convince the red head.
As Willow gathered up the courage, she managed a nod and headed over to the gorgeous blonde that she loved.
"Hey you look good." Willow stated to Tara, trying not to sound desperate.
"S- s- s- so do you." Tara stuttered, nearly hitting herself upside her head for being nervous around Willow.
"How are you?" Willow asked, calmly trying to break the ice.
"I'm fine. How have you been, without your s- s- s- spells?"
"Great! I haven't thought about them for awhile. So, why are you here all by yourself?"
"Because I couldn't find a date on such short notice."
"I don't see why. So, you won't mind if I ask you..... to..... um.....dance?"
"Dance? I don't know if we should. I mean, are you sure this won't end badly?"
"It's just one dance, Tara. What could possibly happen?"
What could happen? Tara thought as she took her red head's hand.
They danced the rest of the night together. Fast, slow, whatever was played, they danced to it.
"Tara," Willow got the courage to say during one of the slow songs, "I'm sorry for every-"
"Don't. Please. I know you didn't mean to, but I don't want to hurt this moment." Tara interrupted before Willow could finish.
"No , Tara. I think you need to hear this. I'm sorry for all the pain and torture I put you through. I just want everything to be like it was before, before things went bad. I love you, and you know that. I know you love me. I was hoping if maybe we could.......ummm......start over?"
"Start over? I don't even know who you are anymore. Am I just supposed to think that it would end differently." she looked into Willow's once trust-worthy eyes and melted. "On one condition. You must learn how to control your powers. Magic is a part of you. I can't ask you to get rid of it, so therefore I want you to learn how to control it. Promise me you will."
"I promise." Willow said. From that moment on, Willow realized she would never have Tara's full trust. One little slip up and she would lose her relationship.
They both knew they had to take it slow, and that it would be awhile before things could ever start being normal.
Willow walked Tara back to her dorm room and Tara started helping Willow control her magic. They both decided that it would be strange and uncomfortable if anyone knew about their relationship. They decided to keep it a secret, for now.
"So what happened?" Dawn asked as Willow walked through the door.
"Nothing. We JUST talked." Willow said, lying through her teeth.
"That's great! Isn't it? You guys didn't get into another fight?"
"No, we talked about how to control my powers so I wouldn't hurt anyone again. That's it."
