"You're joking!" I cried. "Stop it, this isn't funny!"

"Calm down, Rossali." Sniffled my mother, also crying. She stroked my hair. "It's alright. Your father fought hard, but he's in a better place now. Here," She handed me a pokeball. "Father wanted you to have this."

"What is it?" I said tearfully.

"Remember when you were little, and you would play with his Igglybuff? Well, he evolved into a Wigglytuff!" She said quietly.

My eyes lit up. "I can have him?" I sniffled.

"Yes sweetheart." My mother soothed. "You can go see Professor Sycamore about getting some pokeballs!"

I rolled my eyes. "Mother, I'm not a pokemon trainer. I'm not that aggressive. Plus im already 19, you're supposed to go there when you're 10."

"Whatever you want, sweetie." My mother got up, still sorrowful after my father's death. "My friend Pam is coming over. She has a daughter about the same age as you, 17 to be exact."

I nodded, and slowly dragged myself to my room, to brush my black hair, and tied it up in a high bun. Once I did, I pinned a rose on the top of my head, like I usually do. I had some sort of obsession with roses or something. I called out my Eevee and my new Wigglytuff, so they could introduce themselves to each other. I got an Eevee on my birthday a month ago, and I would never use him to battle. I guess you could say I'm a pokemon collector?

I then heard voices from downstairs. Were they here already? I ordered my pokemon to stay on my bed, and tiptoed downstairs. Did the daughter collect pokemon, too?

Their daughter must've spotted me. "Hi" She said to me, seemingly forcing a smile. She had pale skin, and black frizzy hair put in a low ponytail, and green eyes, covered with glasses.

"Hello!" I cheerfully said, glad I didn't have to say hello first. I spotted a bird pokemon perched on her shoulder. "Whats her name?"

"Tranquill." She announced proudly "I got her for my Greninja. Greninja and I were friends for seven years, but he wanted to perform. And this Tranquill wanted to race, so I traded my Greninja with a pokemon performer."

"So you're what, a pokemon...racer? Is that a thing?"

"Yeah, it's not that popular." She sighed. "But yes!"

"Isn't a Greninja worth more than a Tranquill though…" I pointed out.

"Yeah so I also got a Gloom, but it's not fast at all…" She huffed. She threw her pokeball, unleashing Gloom. I looked at it in shock, how could she not love it!? It's so cute!

"Oh my gosh, It's adorable! How could you not love this little thing!?" I exclaimed.

"Cute pokemon aren't really my thing, what matters is if it's fast. The only slow cute pokemon I like is Eevee." She replied.

"I have an Eevee! He's lazy though."

"Can I have it!? I'll trade you for my Gloom!" She gasped.

"Really!?" What an opportunity! That Gloom was so cute, and my Eevee was so lazy. Of course I'd trade! "Yes, oh yes!"

"Perfect! By the way, my names Holly, whats yours?" Holly Questioned.

"Rossali." I said shaking her hand. Holly inspired me. I could do something else with my pokemon besides battling with them. She races with them, so what could I do with Wigglytuff and Gloom?
