I was walking through the Big Apple while talking on the Phone with Alli. It still seemed so surreal….I can't believe I'm actually in New York! And I seriously can't believe I'm having an interview at Columbia! MY dream college….This all seems like a dream come true.
"Hello, Clare? Earth to Clare?! CLARE!" I almost dropped my phone after hearing Alli scream my name. "JEESH, Alli do you want me to go deaf before my interview at Columbia?!" I said while walking down the street, Ughhh I wish I didn't wear heels my feet are hurting.
"Well if you were listening to me you would know what I was talking about" She said. "I'm sorry ok, I just….This is all so surreal…Like I'm actually going to see Columbia for the first time and I have an interview! How awesome is that?!"
I'm probably just rambling but god , I'm just so excited and nervous at the same time. I heard laughter at the other end of the line. "Chill Clarebear, everything will go smoothly! Remember this is your dream college were talking about, you will blow those profs who are going to interview you away with your smartness!" This is why I love Alli she may be boy crazy sometime but she's amazing at giving me a pep talk and I really needed it cause I think I'm about to lose it. "I know, I know. I just…What if they think I'm not good enough for their college, what if there are other students who are more experienced with these kind of interviews…." I took in a shaky breath and softly said "What If they don't think I belong there…." "Clare! Stop it! Everything will be ok, Stop stressing yourself out. If they don't let you into Columbia, than there stupid and they will realize what kind of a mistake they made after seeing you being the head of New York Times!" I giggled, maybe she's right I don't need to stress, everything will be ok. "Thanks Alli you're the best! I don't know what I would do without you." I said honestly. Alli's been my best friend since the 9th grade we had our fare share of drama but that only made us stronger.
"You know I will always be there for you when you need me!" I heard her sigh at the end of the line, there was something bugging her. "What's wrong?" I asked confused. "Clare, I know you don't really wanna talk about this but, your In New York." "Yes so?" Ok I seriously don't know what's wrong.
"Well…..you do realize you could…Like you know…..Eumhhh-" I was getting annoyed and really wanted to know what she was talking about. "DAMN IT ALLI, SPIT IT OUT!" I didn't mean to yell, but God can that girl annoy me sometimes. "You could run into Eli" I started to laugh, ok so Eli's also in New York, that doesn't mean we will bump into each other or something.
"Alli don't worry it's not like I will see Eli or- "Before I could finish my sentence I heard my name being called "Clare?!" I turned around to look who called my name, let's just say that was my biggest mistake cause when I noticed who it was I fastly turned back around and smashed my head against a pole.
God can my day get any worse, Before everything turned black the last words that came out of my mouth were "Eli?"
