Detective Kate Beckett knocked on Rick Castle's door, expecting to see the writer, but instead was greeted by his mother.

"Oh, Katie, hello, how are you today?" Martha asked as she ushered her in. "Are you looking for Ricky?"

"Ya, the boys and I are heading to dinner, and wanted to know if he wanted to come, to celebrate the end of the case. Is he here?" Kate said as she glanced around the large room.

"Oh, he is down in the gym, here, i have a key...somewhere around here...Ahhh, here it is" Martha said as she rooted around in her purse pulling out a set of keys. "Its in the basement, when you get off the elevator, take a left, and its the red door. Just go in, he tends to not hear anything when he is working out." She continued on smiling and opening the door. "See you later!"

Kate rode the elevator to the basement and found the red door. Opening it, she heard the booming of the stereo and the sound of fists hitting a punching bag, Smiling slightly, she slowly walked into the dim room, though not entering it completely. Castle was there, pivoting around the punching bag like a pro, his concentration completely on the object in front of him. She had seen that look very few times on his face, mainly when he was holding a gun and saving her life. His hair was falling in his face, like it did when he had just woken up and sweat was dripping down the side of his face. He moved like a professional, like he had done this before. The song was on its last beat as he finished with a last punch to the bag. Taking a step back, he finally registered her presence. Looking up at her, his face transformed from focused and concentrated to his regular happy and jovial.

"Hi" He said as he started to take off the boxing gloves looking at her trough the hair that had fallen on his forehead.

"Hi, sorry if i am interrupting..." she replied as she stepped fully into the room that had been transformed into a gym.

"No, no, I was just blowing off a little steam. So, do we have a case?"

"No, the team is going for a celebratory dinner, and I was wondering of you wanted to come."

"Sure, I just need to shower, why don't you head back upstairs and I'll meet you there in about fifteen?"

"Sure" She said as she started to turn to the door. About half way there, she turned back and said "your good, at boxing. I never pictured you being good at that."

"I boxed in high school, and then in college as well, as a hobby. I never stopped. I enjoy it, the concentration it takes. Sometimes I'll come down here to work out a scene in a book, or to vent after a case gets to me. Kinda like when you shoot a gun." He flashed her his cocky grin.

"Well, it suits you" she said as she laughed.

"Really?" he replied with an eyebrow raised "turn you on?" he laughed.

Kate hid the smile that played on her lips and the want in her eyes as she turned back to the door, calling over her shoulder "In your dreams Castle"

"No, Kate, in my books"
