In Kenya, 1871, a lioncub named Simbawas mourning the loss of his dead father. He tried to call for help, but no one came. The little cub began to cry.
Meanwhile, Christine Daae and her childhood friend, Raoul de Chagny were riding their horse through the African gorge. Christine then stopped the horse. "There's something lying over there." Christine said to Raoul. "It looks like a male lion."
Raoul thought. "Whatever it is, he's hurt. We have to go help him." Christine spoke. When they got to him,they knew they were toolate. Christine sobbed because she felt sad for the lion. Then Raoul noticed something. "Christine look. Under
the lion's paw." Raoul said. They lifted the lion's paw and found Simba crying. "Why are you crying little guy?" Christine asked Simba. "The wildebeest he tried to save me. It was an accident. I didn't mean for it to happen." Simba sobbed. "You know
this lion?" Christine asked. "He was my dad." Simba answered. "It's okay. My father died too." Christine said trying to comfort Simba. Christine and Raoul decided to raise Simba as their own son.
