A/N - Something written after some very long IM conversations. Eric's possibly a little out of character, but hopefully that gets better as this goes along. More will be uploaded if people like it!

"Twyla?" Gawain called, taking a few steps backwards. "I think there's another monster in the closet." Twyla walked past him, pressing her ear against the closet door.

"I don't hear anything." She frowned. Reaching out a hand, she grasped the doorknob and started to turn it.

"Don't!"

"Shh!" Twyla pulled the door open, where she came face to – well, chest – with a very tall man. Ignoring the quiet, "Wow" from behind her, Twyla poked the man in the stomach – it seemed a reasonable thing to do, as he appeared to be asleep. The man made a noise that could only be described as a growl and opened his eyes.

"Hello," he said, not sounding at all like he had just broken into someone's room and fallen asleep in their closet.

"Hello," the two children repeated.

"Is this your closet, tiny humans?" They nodded. "Then you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. It's filthy."

"You shouldn't be in there anyway," Gawain said matter-of-factly, though moved back when the man's eyes rested on him.

"Of course I shouldn't," and he stepped out.

"Our nanny has a poker," Twyla warned him. The man stared.

"Pardon?"

"A poker," came a voice from the doorway. "Honestly, have you not all learned that by now?"

"Sorry, I'm new." He shrugged, eyeing the fireplace poker Susan was holding.

"You're also not like the other monsters I've found in their closet. Who are you?"

"Oh, forgive me," he flashed his most charming smile, possibly to avoid being on the receiving end of the poker. "I'm Eric, Eric Northman."

"And you're a vampire."

"Is it that obvious?"

"Yes."

"Well, what's not obvious," Eric looked at her properly. "Is what you are."

"I'm just... something. Now, are you going to leave or do I have to use this?" She held up the poker for emphasis. Eric just smirked.

"Alright, fine, you don't have to threaten me." He smirked all the way to the window. "I'll be seeing you." With that, he hopped out of the window, landing on the street below. He had to keep turning back as he walked, unable to believe it. "I just met Death's Granddaughter."
