This is a short little Yullen oneshot. Sorry if the characters are really OOC :)
Kanda had seen a lot of things throughout his life as an Exorcist but this he had never. Allen Walker, the youth he taunted and teased, stood trembling as his knees struggled to hold him upright. A rosy blush painted across his face. He had interrupted Kanda's training and practically dragged him out into the corridor.
"I-I like you!" He stammered as he clutched the front of his uniform timidly; his gaze directed at the floor to avoid the eyes of his crush. Taken aback by the confession of his fellow male Exorcist, Kanda stood silently pondering how he should react. He studied the white-haired boy's face seeming to make Allen shy away further. He wasn't bad-looking; his fair skin and slender frame made him look almost beautiful but one thing was hard to ignore: he was a man. He, quite clearly, held nothing in the chest area and Kanda had seen more than enough in The Order's changing rooms to know that he was sure of Allen's gender. But then why did he not seem to have an answer? It should have been obvious, shouldn't it?
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Kanda's train of thought was cut short by the words of the boy in front of him.
"I don't know how I should react." It was the truth. They had spent lots of time together at The Order since Allen arrived - for as long as he could remember - and yet he never noticed his glances.
"Are you disgusted?" Allen's expression stayed bashful but there was a hint of sadness in his voice. It had taken a lot of courage for him to come out and say it and now he was starting to regret ever mentioning it.
"It's not that I'm disgusted. It's more like we've been been together normally for a long time now. Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I've liked you for a while now but I was always too scared to say it out loud." Kanda found a blush creeping across his cheeks as well. He had to admit it, this side of moyashi was really something.
"So... have you always been... you know..." Kanda started awkwardly. Allen's face turned bright red as he looked up angrily at the bluenette.
"No! You idiot! It's just... you." Tears pricked at the corners of Allen's eyes and Kanda's expression softened slightly. He held the tearful youth to his chest.
"It's okay. Sorry." Allen wiped his eyes dry and listened to the sound of the swordsman's heartbeat against his ear. The oddly calming feeling it gave him welled up in his stomach like butterflies.
"You know, if you do things like this all the time, I'll only fall for you deeper." A small smile formed on boy's lips as he closed his eyes and relaxed into Kanda's arms. The bluenette mirrored Allen's smile.
"Who knows? That might be quite nice."
