AN: I'm still working on Life is a Song, just playing around with a few songs. I should have a new chapter in a few days. This idea popped into my head and I had one of those writer moments where it won't go away until you write it. I don't know if I did it justice. It seemed better in my mind, but perhaps I will edit it later after some reviews, we'll see.

"Well, you coming?" Clare was at the door of the English classroom about to skip class. She was looking at Eli waiting for an answer. He looked back at her shocked before shrugging and putting his apple in his mouth. He got up from his desk and threw his bag over one shoulder as he went through the door. Clare opened the door to the parking lot turning one last time to see if anyone would catch them, and seeing no one she giggled. "Wow, I can't believe I'm doing this."

Eli smirked at her. "Live it up Edwards." They were walking in the parking lot and Eli was walking over to his car. Clare stopped short and stared at it. Eli turned around when he sensed she was no longer next to him. He laughed at her expression. "What? Like you didn't already know I drive a hearse?" He opened the passenger door for her but she didn't move, still staring at the hearse.

"I-I'm not getting in that." She shook her head.

"Ouch Clare, Morty's wounded!" He clutched his heart dramatically and smiled at her.

"Morty?" She cracked a smile. "Cute. Still, there is no way I'm getting in a hearse Eli, it's just weird."

"Come on Clare it's just a car. He won't bite." He winked at her. "Plus the dead body is in the back. We're sitting in the front." Clare's eyes widened and Eli laughed at her. "Just get in before someone comes out here and busts us. Wouldn't want to get a detention would we?" He knew that would get to her. Clare looked around the parking lot panicked as she hurried to get in Morty. Eli shut the door, laughing at her as he went around the front and got in the driver's side.

Clare was freaking out in her seat. Her heart was beating fast because she was skipping school and now she was in a hearse. Her hands were sweating and she wiped her palms on her dress. Eli laughed at her but he was still a little concerned. She didn't look that great. "Are you okay?"

Clare shook her head. "N-no, but I will be." She turned to half smile at Eli.

"Well, then where to?"

"Um, maybe the Dot? I really need to work on my paper."

"Okay then." Eli started Morty and made his way to the Dot. He looked over at Clare. "So, how is riding in a hearse?"

Clare was looking out the window but turned to look at Eli when he spoke. "It's actually not that bad. I was definitely freaking out at first, but now it feels like just another car." She shrugged and smiled.

"See, I told you he wouldn't bite." He smirked at her turning back to the road.

Eli parked the hearse in front of the Dot and they were now sitting on a bench outside. He had her paper in his hands. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. It lacked a certain something. He could feel that Clare was nervous next to him and he wanted to lighten the mood. "Well, this is a first; skipping school to do work."
