My first English Inazuma Eleven fanfic. Though it's not my first English fic. I decided to start with some MiyaKaze. Enjoy~
Miyasaka sighed. He had been staring at his mobile phone for three good hours now. Sometimes, he would try and make a call but his thumb would freeze right before he could press the little green button. Maybe he should have gone with his first idea and simply send a text of encouragement. But now, it was getting very late and Miyasaka couldn't afford to wake up Kazemaru on the night before the Football Frontier International final.
"I'm so stupid," the boy muttered as he buried his face in his pillow. Now, Kazemaru probably thought he was heartless and didn't care about him anymore. "Those stupid guys from the soccer club could have told me they were having a webcam discussion with Inazuma Japan." Miyasaka turned his head to the side and opened his phone. The photo of Kazemaru was smiling at him. "Kazemaru-san…" The murmuring lips kissed the screen.
But right then, Miyasaka started and dropped the phone. It landed on the mattress with a soft 'thump' and moved around like a confused bug as it vibrated. 'Kazemaru Ichirouta' was displayed on the screen. Miyasaka held his breath as he picked up the phone with a trembling hand and brought it to his ear.
"H-Hello?"
"Miyasaka? Sorry, I hope you weren't sleeping. I couldn't remember the time difference between Japan and Liocott."
The blond boy sat straight up. "No, no, I'm awake." He smiled when Kazemaru let out a sigh of relief. "Tomorrow's the big day, right? I wish my parents let me make the trip so I could have cheered you on."
"But then, who would have taken care of the athletics club?"
"Of course." Miyasaka smiled. "I'm glad you still care about us, senpai."
"Always. Your spirit is always with me when I run."
It was this kind of words that made Miyasaka wish Kazemaru never left their club. He was past asking him to return though. Kazemaru looked way too cool when he was playing soccer.
"Be sure to win this match! I'll be watching."
Kazemaru's laughter was the most delightful sound to the blond boy's ear. "We'll win for sure."
"That's a promise then. And when you come back, you can come to the club and we'll all celebrate, okay?" Miyasaka would never admit it but he was already elaborating plans to have Kazemaru all to himself on that day.
"Don't forget your training. Are you still aiming for the junior high nationals?"
"You bet! I really want to fulfill this dream for you."
Kazemaru laughed once more. "You should focus for your own goals instead of mine."
"But this is something I want to do, Kazemaru-san. Both for you and for me."
There was a short moment of silence. The timing was right. Miyasaka would reveal his feelings to Kazemaru, he decided.
"Kazermaru-san… I-"
"Ryou! It's past midnight! Go to bed!"
"Yes mom…" Miyasaka sighed. Why were mothers so good at interrupting the most important things? "Sorry about that."
"It's okay," Kazemaru replied. "I didn't think it was this late for you."
"Don't worry about this. I'm glad I was able to talk to you."
"Same here. Hearing your voice makes me feel a bit more confident."
Miyasaka could feel himself blush. "Kazemaru-san…" The boy shook his head to clear up his thoughts. He didn't want to sound too much like a total schoolgirl in love. "Good luck for tomorrow's match!"
"Thank you, Miyasaka. Good night."
"Good night."
The blond boy hung up and remained still for some time before he rolled over on his stomach, his head swooning with happiness.
"Kazemaru-san, I love you!"
