And it begins…
Cherry blossoms drifted down to the ground, seemingly lost, having absolutely no idea where their journey would take them to. It was a picturesque day too, as larks trilled their merry tunes while the cool balmy breeze blew through the clearing. All was quiet and peaceful…But it was not meant to last…
"OSAWARI!!!"
A loud thud followed the sudden outburst.
"Inuyasha!" A 16 year-old girl screamed, "WHAT are you doing?!" Kagome Higurashi got off her bike and pointed a finger accusingly at the half-demon now lying sprawled face-down on the dusty road.
"Chikushou…" came a muffled reply.
"Don't you dare follow me back. I've had enough for the week!" Kagome chided as she climbed back onto her bike and readied herself. Tossing a cup of Instant Ramen at Inuyasha, she pedaled hard. Soon, she was nothing but a small black shadow, bobbing along the horizon.
Painfully, Inuyasha picked himself up and wiped his face with his large sleeves. As he bent down to take the cup of Instant Ramen, a loud rustling was heard in the bushes.
"Feh! Come out, wolf-boy," smirked Inuyasha.
A wolf-demon of about 16 stepped out from within the sinister shadows of the clearing.
"Ha! You uncouth creature…Did you really think you could take my Gang-Lady away? Kagome knows that it is I who truly loves her! YOU SHALL NEVER TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME!" The wolf-demon struck a haughty pose as he exclaimed to the half-demon.
"BAKA! Kouga, why should she like you? She's only just met you. She'll prefer me, after all, she's only slightly harder to get, compared to Kikyo…Chikushou…" the half-demon's clawed hand reached up to his chest as he recalled the 50 years he had spent pinned to the tree. "Kikyo…" he murmured.
Kouga's ears pricked up with the name.
"You still haven't forgotten your old sweetheart and you will never be able to. As if Kagome needed someone like that," he taunted, arms crossed in a triumphant manner.
"GET LOST YOU DAMNED DEMON! WHY DON'T YOU GO STAND IN FRONT OF A MIRROR AND TEND TO YOUR LITTLE TAIL?!?!" Inuyasha shouted. Cracking his knuckles, he advanced towards Kouga as he muttered under his breath, "You will regret THIS!"
Inuyasha regretted saying so.
"Not unless I make you regret first," Kouga replied slyly and in a flash, he was gone.
For the third time, Inuyasha muttered - "Chikushou…" Grabbing the cup of Instant Ramen, he sauntered to the nearest river to fix himself lunch. Little did he know that the worst had only just begun. Kouga had nasty tricks up his sleeve.
"I'll make you regret it…for sure."
