On one hand, Dick and Wally made it unbelievable annoying. On the other hand, it was vastly entertaining to watch….
Halloween. Roy was never much one for the whole 'trick or treat smell my feet' thing, what was the point when he could just raid all the candy from Wally and Dick? Besides, he always replaced it. With chocolate covered raisins, yes, but it was considered replaced in his eyes.
Wally, however, found that to be an act of treason.
Anyway, ya, it was irritating. The two of them always did a whole tribute and memorial thing to the Potters, since it was the day that Harry Potter became an orphan cause Voldy killed his parents. They just had a really freakish obsession with Harry Potter. For a few years he thought it was just them, but then actually found out how extensive the word 'fandom' is and realized with horror, 'there's more of them.'
Once that had blown it's course, it got to be really entertaining. Wally trying to freak Dick out with spiders. Freaky chemistry experiments to make awesome effects. The really bad and sometimes dirty Halloween puns. The gut-aching sugar splurge. Endless trolling.
And, of course, the costumes.
One year Wally and Dick had been totally predicable but HAD to do it given their unique opportunity. Yes, they went to Walmart and bought crappy 15$ dollar replicas of their hero costumes for trick or treating…and later on that night, swapped them so that Dick was the speedster and Wally the hacker. It was embarrassing.
The following year where they did the same thing but simply dressed as cheap Walmart Batman and Flash.
And there's many opportunities during the night to change costumes, all of which they take advantage of. They've been 'caveman spongebob and patrick'. Slutty halloween ghosts (they both wore a white sheet and then put a bra and underwear on over it). Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble. Those twerps have even dressed as Green Arrow and then pilfered one of his old Speedy uniforms to complete the duo. Actually, Wally and Dick have pretty much gone as every member of the Justice League….just not Black Canary or Wonder Woman. But Roy has plans for that. Oh yes.
And the crazy, hilarious, outrageous halloween getups didn't end there.
But then there was that one year went they dressed up as nuns; now THAT had been priceless. Especially when they later took off the baggy robes and revealed themselves to be sexy nuns. Then took it a step further and were sexy drag queen nuns. Roy is pretty sure they got grounded for that one though.
Totally worth it.
