Category: Fluff, fluff, and oh um, maybe some Fluff just to change it up.
Alex hadn't watched much TV. in her time but she had caught her fair share of MacGyver episodes. It didn't hurt that Mike had been a Bomb Squad tech; he had taught her everything she knew about explosions, big and small. That combined with sheer willpower is what got her out of that Hell Hole.
"Just so you know as soon as I get outta this hospital we are going to visit my nephew. I don't want to hear any arguments." Alex said as more an afterthought.
"So did I hear correctly that there were some pyrotechnics involved with you getting out of that place?" Bobby knew this was going to be a tough subject for a while with her, but he hoped making light of it would help.
"You can't watch MacGyver and not pick something up." Was all she said before the curtain moved and she flinched. Bobby realized then that some minor changes were going to be necessary at her house. For one thing the front door was done for, and he'd replace the shower curtain with frosted doors. He'd stop by the pet store while he was out. Hopefully the C.S.U. Techs had cleaned up more then they normally do. Oh well, if he had to do some cleaning so be it.
"What's going through that head of yours, Bobby, you're being far too quiet." Alex knew he was upset with himself for what had happened to her, but they had to move past it.
"Oh it's nothing really, just thinking of some projects I need to get started on." Bobby wanted this to be a secret, maybe he'd get her brothers involved.
"Well listen, get out of here, get some sleep. You look like hell still. I'm going to be here for at least another day, I'll call you if that changes." Alex felt the pull of sleep and knew it was what she needed to heal. She also felt Bobby lean into her and kiss her forehead, just as quickly he was gone. She felt his loss like a lead weight across her chest.
As it turned out the Techs had cleaned up quite a bit. They hadn't really had to go into her room, just as a cursory check, so her most personal space was intact. An hour later both the front door, and shower doors were installed and a parakeet was squawking loudly from the cage. Bobby had also rearranged the living room. Just so that it wasn't exactly the same as the last time she's been here. In his experience with victims that was something that pushed them too the edge, seeing the space where the attack had happened day in and day out, being exactly the same. Only after all of that was done did Bobby entertain the thought of going to his apartment, showering and catching a few hours sleep.
Yeah yeah, I know this episode is going to be Tagged to death (shades of I.T.W.S.H. much?); I just wanted to add my thoughts to the mix.
