Authors Note: I wasn't going to write this story but the idea wouldn't leave me alone. So here it is. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Heart of a Fighter

Unsinkable ships sink, unbreakable walls break

Sometimes the things you think would never happen

Happen just like that

Unbendable steel bends

If the fury of the wind is unstoppable

I've learned to never underestimate the impossible

Rey Mysterio trembled with pure emotion. Underdog, charity case, he'd heard it all. And now here he was, World Heavyweight Champion. It wasn't his victory alone though. His victory had been dedicated to his friend Eddie Guerrero.

Rey looked at the large belt he held in his hands. Over the years many WWE superstars had held the coveted belt. Now it was Rey's turn. And he would hold the title proudly.

Rey Mysterio smiled a small thoughtful smile as he sat alone in the locker room. He had fought hard to reach this point. He had entered the Royal Rumble at number two. He had survived a match with some of the biggest and strongest wrestlers in the business. But at the end of the night he had walked away champion, with a WrestleMania main event title shot.

Unfortunately, Randy had had other ideas. He had made degrading remarks about Eddie, insulted Rey, and in general made life miserable. Randy Orton had finally crossed the line and Rey agreed to a match with the WrestleMania title shot as the prize.

Rey's dreams seemed to crash around him when he lost that match. He had struggled and survived to achieve all that he had, and in one moment with the use of a single rope, everything he had worked for had been stolen. He thought that he had lost his biggest chance at the belt, until Theodore Long, SmackDown's general manager, put Rey back in the match. He would get a shot at the belt after all, as well as an opportunity to face Randy Orton again.

Underdog, charity case, how he had proven them wrong. Rey did the impossible. He had beaten Randy Orton and Kurt Angle to become champion. He had put his heart and soul into that match. And his dream had come true. The fans, his fans, had cheered him on, giving him hope. His family had cheered him on, giving him strength. They knew he wasn't a charity case. He was a fighter. He had always been a fighter. But most importantly, he had the heart of a fighter.
