Rookie

Prologue: Belief

A Sakaki-centric Story Brought to You by:

Laura "MEENCANTAHARUTO" Laurent

And by:

Bandai (in other words, this is a disclaimer),

And reviewers like you.

There are some people in this world who believe that from the moment you enter the scene, the moment you breathe your first breath, the moment you leave the womb: your life, from origin to conclusion, is already designed.

There are people who believe that there is only one path you can follow; an unbendable, unalterable course; premeditated by whoever or whatever you believe in.

There are people who believe that fate governs absolutely.

Marisol Sakaki was one of them.

And that was why, before she was rushed off to the hospital, she prayed that the child inside of her ("Another girl," they said.) would live the best life possible, without many challenges, without much pain.

"And please, God, you've managed it so far," she prayed, "please, don't let her be like her father."

From the day he was born, in a worn-down hospital in Mexico, Haruto Sakaki defied god.

Or maybe he just got on His bad side.

Haruto was always pretty good at screwing things up.

Author's Note:

I've been meaning to put this up for a while, as I'm always finding that there are never enough Sakaki stories out there. I thought that I could contribute another, a history of sorts. Haruto is probably my favorite character, and he's the one I write about most and I've always given him an odd sort of background.

So, this is the story that I gave him. It's all about his family, friends, and events that lead to his eventual metamorphosis into the rookie we know from the series.

And it's the whole story.

Except for the parts I left out. Which I did. Leave out parts.

WHOO LAURA WAY TO RUIN THIS SERIOUS AUTHOR NOTE!

The first chapter is coming soon.
