A/N: So... My first fic. Yeah, man. If you read my profile, you'll see how that's incorrect...
Anyways. In this fic, Laurel Patterson, my OC, is going on an adventure! -As this is my first fic (and therefore the first anyone's seen of my OC), nobody knows anything about my OC. That's fine.
Disclaimer: I own nothing except my OC! Hands off that!
ON WIV DA FANFIC!
"EDDY!" Laurel called up the stairs to her brother- obviously named Eddy.
"What?" He moaned.
"MUM SAYS TEA'S READY!" She bellowed.
Eddy huffed and reluctantly pressed the 'Start' button on his Xbox controller, pausing a session of Minecraft, his favorite game.
^.^ ~TEN MINUTES LATER~ ^.^
"-Then I started hammering the 'LT' button and mining as fast as I could and I pegged it away from the creepers! I sprinted back to the castle and kept clicking 'RT' and barricaded the door in! And then I-" Eddy gabbled excitedly, before being cut off.
"-Shut up, I don't care about your stupid game!" Laurel hissed. She'd absent-mindedly been swirling beans around her plate until he'd disturbed her. She wasn't hungry.
"Eddy, sweetie, are you nearly ready? It's Friday, you need to get ready for your judo practice." A voice called softly from the next room. Eddy and Laurel's mum walked from the bathroom and into the kitchen, folding a pair of trousers.
"Nearly, mum," Eddy sighed, stuffing the last of his 'pasta carbonara' (or at least what was supposed to be carbonara, their dad was not a very good cook. That combined with Eddy's love of tomato ketchup made the meal unrecognizable) into his mouth. He stood up, took his plate to the sink and walked towards the bathroom that his mum had returned to. As he came to the doorway, we paused. "Laurel?" He asked.
"Hmm?" The twelve-year-old mumbled in reply.
"Can you turn the Xbox off for me?" He said as he returned to the room, carrying his white judo kit under his arm to take upstairs.
Laurel huffed quietly. "Fine. Whatever."
Laurel finished her dinner and went up to her brother's room. He and their mum had just left for the judo meet, so Laurel was alone in the house with her dad outside tending to the back garden.
Laurel walked up to the Xbox console and pressed the round button that she knew would turn the game off.
As her finger prodded the button, the lights seemed to dim. The whole room went black, and there were purple patches swimming in front of her eyes.
Why now, of all times, did Laurel choose to help her brother?
A/N: No prizes for guessing what's going to happen next...
