"So when is your friend planning to arrive?" Emily asked Amy as they crouched behind one of the many rusted cars that littered the streets of the future.

"I don't know," Amy replied, "He said five minutes, but the Doctor isn't always...on time."

"Well, you'd better take this then. Just in case," Emily advised, handing Amy a stun gun.

"Ooh, a taser," Amy remarked, carefully taking it from Emily and examining it.

"Be careful with it," Emily warned, "Matt tells me these stun guns have the potential power to take out a T-Rex."

"Yeah don't worry, I've used stuff like this before," Amy assured her, gripping the stun gun with both hands, "So you and Matt..."

"We're friends," Emily replied a little too quickly.

"Really?" asked Amy, "Because I saw the way he looked at you before we came through the...what are they called again?"

"Anomaly," Emily answered, peering over the roof of the car to check for any future predators.

"Yeah, the anomaly. And it seems to me that he might care for you a bit more than you think."

Emily sighed, pressing herself against the side of the car in defeat, knowing that Amy wasn't going to let this go without receiving an honest answer from her.

"Look, Amy, the truth is I don't know what Matt and I are to each other anymore. I just know that ever since my husband died Matt has always been there for me, even before that."

Amy looked down at the ground for a moment, and then back up at Emily, "Sorry about your husband. What happened to him?"

Emily grimaced, an expression that looked out of place on her graceful features, "Don't be. He was going to have me committed to an asylum for the rest of my life. He was killed by a raptor when he tried to stop me coming back through an anomaly."

Amy was about to respond when Emily's eyes suddenly widened and she slowly raised her gun.

"Emily? What's..."

"Don't move. There's a predator behind you," Emily hissed, taking aim just above Amy's head.

Just as Emily was about to fire a loud whooshing noise began and a strong gust of wind blew around them. Emily quickly took a shot at the predator as it suddenly leapt forward, startled by the sudden change in weather. The shot was well-aimed and the predator fell unconscious mid-leap, falling heavily onto the ground.

"What is that?" Emily shouted over the noise.

"It's the Doctor," Amy replied, grinning, "He made it on time for once."
