"Yukine, you can take a break." Suzune stated, taking the small blue-eyed God from her elder's arms, after which he went upstairs, presumably to do his homework.

"Suzu! I'm hungry!" The little God declared.

"Suzune! You named me Suzune!" She playfully replied.

"I'm hungry Suzu!"

"Okay. Lunch is soon. Daikoku is cooking now."

He sounded just like Yato. Just like the old Yato.

The old Yato who was always complaining about not having enough money to buy food. Then Hiyori would swoop in and buy lunch for her and Yukine while ignoring Yato's complaints.

She missed Yato. She missed the Yato who had given her a name. She missed the Yato who had made her his regalia. She missed Yato.

"Suzu? Why are you crying?" The small God asked.

"Suzune. My name is Suzune. My master gave me that name. And I love it more than anything. Please don't shorten it." She stated.

The small God fell silent. Even a small child wouldn't know how to respond to that.

Even Yato probably wouldn't have known how to respond to that.

"Okay, Suzune!" The small Yato replied, a smile on his tiny face.

That was Yato's smile.

Yato's smile on this child's small face. Yato's blue eyes in this small child's head.

It made Suzune worse.

It made her sadder.

It made her miss her master more.

It made her cry more.

And that made the small child more curious.

"Suzune? Why are you crying?" He asked her again.

"Um... I don't know. But it's okay! I'm happy!" She flashed a huge smile at her tiny master.

Because he didn't remember anything from his previous life. And he wouldn't understand why Suzune was crying.

Because she was his armor.

And she had failed to protect him.

"Put me down." Mini-Yato stated, wagging his little legs.

Suzune obeyed, placing the small child on the floor.

He immediately lept at her and wrapped

His little arms around her.

"Don't cry Suzune. Don't be sad."

And that made her feel worse.

Kevlar vests are supposed to protect their wearers.

She hugged the smaller master of hers back.

It would be okay. Eventually this Yato would become their Yato again.

But no matter what happened, even if she had to give up the name she loved so much, she would protect this Yato. She wouldn't let this happen again.

This Yato would live a long and happy life. And she and Yukine would make sure of that.
