Whomever should uncover this box, know this:
If you are reading this, then I presume that the J. C. Wilber Building (dedicated April 16th, 1892) has been destroyed or demolished. This letter, sealed into this cornerstone, on this date, is a warning.
I'm sure that by now you have noticed the rather ordinary-looking frog within the box, as well as the tiny top hat and cane. Well, I assure you, he is anything but ordinary. And that is why you must get rid of it immediately!
If he hasn't started singing and dancing by now, he will. But before you have any thoughts or get any ideas, listen very carefully. There is a reason why this frog has been locked in this box and was sealed within the building's foundation.
This frog is a curse.
If you think that you can get rich with this creature, you are gravely mistaken. Do not try to make a profit off of this frog, believe me, I have tried. Any greedy intentions you may have will only lead to your own destruction, for the frog will only sing when you are the only one around. In the presence of an audience, a talent agent, or in front of a theater filled with people, he will not perform.
All it has given me is poverty, humiliation, and imprisonment in a psychopathic hospital. And upon my release, the frog was my only companion. A constant reminder of my scheme to use him to seek fame and fortune... and failing. If that does not convince you to get rid of the frog, I don't know what will. Consider yourself warned. Do what you will, but I beg, get rid of the frog!
