It had been 4 years since Benny and Gimden's birth, and their amazing, big reveal that opened up the business. Although life seemed like the same daily, boring routine by day, by 6pm they had a break from the stage and were able to walk around and have a good time. This would happen again at their closing hour, 9pm all the way to 6am the next day. The two siblings had a blast, except for a certain rabbit when he was on stage.
Benny flattened his ears as he sat behind the curtain. In words hard to understand, the intercom blared its introductions of the band. Why they had to sit through that sane boring speech was a mystery to the rabbit, but all the same it gave him some spare time to prepare. Each day as the intercom spoke of the rules for the kids and talked about the animatronics and then the food, he would sing his same tune, and he did so today. "These simple parts of mine are interchangeable, unlimit led connections when your digital, becoming one with wires is sensational, go out with the old and in with the-" The last sentence of the intercom sent chills up his back. Golden grinned and ran out onto stage, her grin so large Benny though her face might break. Chills scattered along his back like scared rats, and scared he was. So many eyes and such a big chance of failure. Golden had been wrong. He still sang the songs and played his guitar. "For Golden..." He murmured as he watched her run onto the stage, wiggling her ears as the children laughed. Their eyes drank in the moment, watching intently Goldens every movement, her every word. He whirred but came out fast so as to not be judged.
Golden flattened her ears slightly at him. He made a noise like gears locking up for a moment in response, and she shrugged before continuing. Finally came his part, and Golden took up her trusty mini turntable. Handing him the microphone, he whirred and finally began singing in shaky breaths, making the kids cheer. He made sure his fingers were on his guitar, looking down at it and only once looking up. The kids eyes were prying and he played hardcore until finally the kids were satisfied. He loosened as his song faded, and he handed back the microphone as Golden put away her instrument. She made that locking noise at him and he grunted sheepishly.
Soon it was almost the end of the day and Benny had loosened considerably, beeping and clicking and whirring happily at children; but never ever ruffling their hear or crouching down to be at eye level with them. How did his sister do it, dancing around and interacting. Suddenly he felt little hand on his leg, and saw a girl patting his leg, laughing and singing to the tune of his song. He jumped back, his hand to his chest, whirring. Golden was busy. The workers were trying with the girl, who seemed to be resisting. Benny tried to come forward, but his gears locked up, making a chunking noise. What was it about children that spooked him to where he trusted his show partner with the kids? He just didn't get it, why did they make him whir so much with fear, yet Golden handled them so well? He shook and trembl d but couldn't move at all as the prissy little girl, he was sure now she was a brat, kicked his leg, beginning to throw a tantrum until finally...
He knew the answer now. They were prying they pushed him to the brink. And this brat had found it too good of a sport to harass him and whatever else she had done while he had zoned.
The screams of humans prickled his ears, and he felt no desire to live as the Crimson he had drawn finally covered his mind and he whirred until he fell down and shut off.
