cheer and call
her name. "Elgora!" They scream. She waves and continues walking.
A red headed woman holds grocery bags and cranes her neck to see over
the people. She sighed and started walking. As she was walking, she
didn't see a man in a purple cape walking in the opposite
direction, they collided.
Her groceries spill onto the pavement.
A head of cabbage rolls down the street. She doesn't look up as she
begins to pick up her groceries. As she scans the sidewalk for her
things; she sees a pair of feet. She slowly works her way up the
curving body and lays her eyes on a can of ravioli in a foreign
hand.
"Thank you." She said. Not looking at the strangers
face, fearing to blush.
"I'm sorry. MMM…ravioli. I love
ravioli."
"Me too." She simply stated.
"Let me help
you up." said the gentleman.
She took the strangers hand and
found he was beautiful. She looked at his hair, which was a pale
silverfish/purple. His figure was womanish, yet he was strangely
manly. She looked at his eyes. They were a mystical hazel. He smiled
a small, yet seductive smile.
"What's your name, prey
tell?"
"Annabelle. What's yours?"
"I am Kuja of
Terra." He bowed. She smiled and was very warm in the face. "Can
I accompany you to dinner?"
"Yes." She said without
thinking.
"Okay then," He grabbed her bag and said, "Lead
the way."
Millions of people screamed. Annabelle shook her
head. Under Kuja's breath, he said, "Neanderthals. They cheer for
such a reclusive woman when they should bow down to me."
Annabelle raised an eyebrow and kept walking. "What would you
like for dinner?" She asked.
"You…I mean ravioli."
She
stopped and looked at him. He grinned slyly and shrugged his
shoulders. 'She's perfect.' He thought to himself. They finally
made it to her door. She unlocked the door and they went inside. Her
home was modest and unkempt. He looked around as she looked at him
she was waiting for the usual look of disgust that she receives
especially when her mother comes.
Instead, she was greeted with a
look of joy. He jumped on her couch and said "Your home reminds me
of my auction house. A beautiful irony? You looked as me as though I
would walk straight out the front door because of untidiness, but on
the contrary, I relish in the fact that you are just like me." Her
mouth dropped.
"Kuja, you are full of surprises." He
laughed. This was the first time she heard him laugh. It was
maniacal. It sent shivers down her spine. She knew when she first met
him that she had an odd connection to him. She loved him, yet she was
timid around him. At this point, she noticed him digging in her coat
closet.
He reached in and stated, "I love your black duster. I
have one."
She smiled at how he was comfortable in her home.
Still, she was uneasy at how he was scrounging through her thing.
Annabelle blew off the thought just as quickly. She went into the
kitchen and started to heat up ravioli. Kuja asked, "May I come
talk to you?"
"Sure." She answered.
"How long have
you had a home in Gaia?"
"I moved here last year with hopes
of getting away from my mother." She lazily stated.
Yes. The
parents are usually the worst, are they not?"
