The man watched the beautiful fish glisten in the water as his long blonde hair drooped down into his eyes. He lifted his hand and gracefully brushed the hair away from his face. It was a windy day and Legolas could sense that danger was near. He heard footsteps behind him, but did not turn. For he knew who it was.

Arenthrea, maiden of Rivendell, approached him and spoke, "Cormamin lindua ele lle [my heart sings to see thee]. Vanimle sila tiri [Your beauty shines bright]."

Arenthrea then began to sit down next to Legolas. She then slipped her hand into his.

Legolas pulled away, "Tampa! [Stop!]"

"Mani? [What?]" said Arenthrea.

Legolas jumped up and asked, "Mankoi naa lle sinome? [Why are you here?]"

"To see you, of course!" Arenthrea replied. "Don't you want to see me?"

Arenthrea then stood up and walked over to Legolas. She turned to face him and their eyes met. She gazed into his deep, blue eyes and their faces inched so close, they could have touched nose to nose, when suddenly, Legolas pulled away from her.

"I cannot do this," He whispered, "Amin hiraetha. [I'm sorry].

Legolas then walked away leaving her shivering in the chilly wind.

That night, Legolas could not sleep. He sat there in the cold and dark of the night, gazing at the stars that lit up the sky. Legolas then heard a snap. He jumped up, his keen eyes searching through the darkness until they caught a glimpse of a tall, dark figure. He could tell it was a man. Legolas then quickly grabbed his bow and took out an arrow, pointing it at the figure.

"Legolas, tampa! Amin Aragorn! [Legolas, Stop! I'm Aragorn!]" The figure said, his brown hair swishing in the wind.

"Aragorn?" Legolas exclaimed. Legolas could then make out a much smaller figure behind Aragorn and immediately recognized Gimli, son of Gloin. "Gimli!" Legolas said.

"That's me!" Gimli replied.

"What are you doing here?" Legolas asked.

"Spies....in the forest!" Aragorn said.

"They were not spies...they were Orcs!" Gimli protested.

"We must go now....Come quick. Do not make a sound, for danger is near." Aragorn said.

They ran for about ten minutes until finally they stopped. Legolas looked around in the darkness until he finally saw two figures standing there talking.

"Get out your weapons. On the count of three, we charge, one...tw-" said aragorn.

"Merry...."

"What?"

"I'm hungry."

"Not now Pippin."

"Sorry...................Merry?"

"What Pippin?!?"'

"I have to go to the bathroom."

"HUH? What was that? Did you see that? There's something over there, Merry! Its moving Merry!" Said Pippin.

"Merry? Pippin?" Aragorn questioned them.

"Merry! It's Aragorn! And Legolas and Gimli!" Yelled Pippin.

"What..? How....? Where.....? How did you get here? We thought you have been taken by the Uruks!?" he asked them.

"Well, we did. But then there was this fight between the Uruks and we managed to escape where we ran into Treebeard and he-" Merry began but was then interrupted.

"Treebeard?" Legolas asked.

"Oh, Yes. Treebeard, he's an Ent. Treehearder. Shepard of the forest. At first he thought that we were orcs but we convinced him that we're hobbits. So-"

There was a creak and groan in the forest and suddenly Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli took out their weapons.

"No!" yelled Merry and Pippin.

"No, its just the trees!......Treebeard!" Yelled Merry.

Suddenly there was a great creak and out of the rows of hundreds of other trees, emerged a great creature covered in leaves and branches.

"Who are you standing before me? Orcs? Watch out Merry and Pippin, for I will squish them with–" Treebeard began.

"Treebeard, NO! They are not Orcs. This is Aragorn, Son of Arathorn an heir to the throne of Gondor. And this is Legolas, prince of Mirkwood. And this is Gimli, son of Gloin."

"We mean you no harm," Aragorn cried to the mighty beast towering before him.
