A/N: Wow! My first one-shot and my first non Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfiction! I'm hoping to do more Haruhi Suzumiya fanfictions in the future, in addition to the fanfictions for animes and American shows. R&R! Enjoy!

The Beginning of the End . . .
"Kyon!" I cried angrily after slamming the door to the club room against the old plaster walls; making a loud rattling sound, which, by the way, I love hearing. He looked up from his game with Itsuki, almost unhappy to see me. Why would Kyon not be happy to see me? After all, I am the one who started the SOS Brigade that he is a member of. Mikuru set down a cup of tea on my computer desk.
"Hello miss Suzumiya." Itsuki said warmly with that usual grin on his face. You'd think he'd get tired of smiling so much, but I guess not. Weird people like him are essential to the club. I just ignore him and pulled out a book from my tote bag; the SOS Brigade logo stenciled carefully and sewn on neatly by yours truly.
"Look at this book!" I shoved it into Kyon's face, just so he got a really good look. Being Kyon, he shoved it right back. "Well!?" I said loudly. "Doesn't it look exciting!?" The rest of the club was silent.
"I didn't even read the cover." Kyon said plainly. I sighed.
"Time traveling aliens, Kyon! Time traveling aliens!" I threw my hands up in the air, for dramatic emphasis. I dashed across the room and took the book Yuki was reading out of her hands. "Yuki, you like reading right!?" I held up the book so she could see. It was like that girl went into a trance the moment she saw the thing! Her pale hand reached out and grabbed it, flipping to the first page and sticking her nose into it.
"There, Yuki's reading it so I guess the rest of us just have to sit around and take care of our usual business." He actually seemed satisfied to be board. Now why any one would like being board is beyond me.
"Not to worry!" I replied gleefully, pulling out four more books. "I've got a copy for everyone, so start reading!" I hurtled one at Mikuru who feel to the floor; reveling a little too much of an exposed leg, as she was wearing her maid outfit that day, just as I instructed her to do so. Itsuki walked over and grabbed one from me; sitting across from an aggravated Kyon once more. I slid the final one across the table to Kyon, and began reading myself.
The world is full of wonders, wonders that we can't see, feel, hear, touch, or smell. All we can do is hope those wonders are real and make sense of how the could exist.
I sighed. Of course they exist! They have to exist. The world has to have time travelers, aliens and espers! If not, than everything I've done will have been for nothing. Than again, maybe that book is right. Maybe aliens, time travelers, and espers are just figments of my imagination . .
A/N: I call it 'The Beginning of the End' because I assume that this takes place before the episode where Haruhi and Kyon become trapped in an unusual 'enclosed space' and Kyon kisses her. That's why I think Haruhi was so down. She never did finish that book . . . I think it can be concidered a drabble. I don't know.
