Allow me to explain, before you get confused
That it was her first name that went unused.
As head cheerleader, she ruled
Along with her boyfriend, over the school.
But she was jealous and decided
To sleep with her boyfriend's best friend, misguided
By the influence of alcohol.
And (thinking it was rational)
Convinced the boyfriend that the child was his.
And being the naive boy he is,
He believed her for ten episodes
But a short, loud brunette then showed
That the boy was duped and the girl a fraud
But they still won Sectionals, so let us applaud!
She stayed with the best friend until the end of Season 1
When she gave birth and the child up for adoption.
Season 2 showed no progression
Alas! Season 3 dared mention
That her child was adopted by the brunette's birth mother
So she vowed to get it back, one way or another.
She gave up the new clothes and hairdo,
Along with the ironic Ryan Seacrest tattoo,
To convince the mother to give back her kin.
She now basks in immense chagrin.
I realize now the name I never did say.
She is the once all-powerful Lucy Quinn Fabray.
A/N: In my British Literature class, we just finished reading the Canterbury Tales. Our assignment was to write a 26-line poem in couplets about someone like in The General Prologue of the Tales. I chose Quinn because I recently watched Pot o' Gold and felt particularly keen on the idea of making fun of her (although I didn't do a good job, seeing as how I made fun or her situation more than her). I plan on doing one for each of the characters, but in a different fic for each one so that it would be easier to file under the appropriate character.
The title of this project? The Banter-bury Tales. ^-^
EDIT: I just recently figured out that you could file this under "New Directions." So that's what I'm gonna do. :D
