Chapter 1: The Letter
Garrick was sitting on a mountain, looking at the clouds and the forest below him. He lived on this mountain, Mt.Mortar. He watched as his Lugia, Latios, and Ho-Oh flew around the skies having a friendly battle. Lugia shot a Hyper Beam at Latios, who swiftly doged it as it hit Ho-Oh instead. Ho-Oh retaliated with a sharp cry of "SCREEAAWW!" and a blast of fire. Latios was preparing Luster Purge when Ho-Oh's flametrower hit him. It left a scorch mark. Latios rubbed his side to ease the pain, then used Psychic on Ho-Oh,who was thrown into a wall. Garrick laughed at this. None of it really hurt them, it was for play. He thought about his Rayquaza, who was so far above him he cold no longer see him. Groudon was coming back to him, as he heard his thunderous cry before he came into sight. "REEOARRR!" the Groudon yelled as it fought with Garrick's Mewtwo.Mewtwo was battling hard and saying, " Is that all you've got?" Garrick sent out his three favorite Pokemon, his Charizard, Typhlosion, and Blaziken. "Ahh, this is the life." Garrick said. "But we have to go back home now. Its getting late. Hey, Lugia! Could you tell Rayquaza to get back here?" Lugia flew up to the clouds and got Rayquaza back down to the mountain. Garrick and his Pokemon walked back up the mountain path back towards his home, made from steel ore that his Aggron mined. He checked his mailbox and found a pale red letter inside. Mewtwo decided to open it with his mind. Garrick read the letter. It said, ' Trainer Garrick, the Lentian league is forming and we need someone to fill the Nova gym leader position, seeing as you are a legendary pokemon trainer. The S.S. Zeron will be leaving from Olivine in an hour, please prepare and come to the dock if you wish this position.' Garrick accepted this with a nod of his head and pulled out a picture of Lentian. It was a large island, slightly bigger than Hoenn.
The next day, Garrick prepared for his trip to Olivine with Lugia as his chosen flier. Lugia flew quite quickly and easily to Olivine and then dropped Garrick off on the rims of the town. "Lugia, return!" he said as he pointed a gold pokeball at lugia and a white blast of light took in Lugia's massive figure. Garrick leapt on his Mach Bike and took off towards Olivine City Docks. When he got there, the pier was loaded with trainers and parents. Garrick got off his bike and put it in his backpack. (Yes, its collapsible) He walked up towards the deck, where a few trainers were letting their pokemon out for R&R. He noticed some strange looking people in the corner. One, a girl, had Long red hair, and another, a boy, ha purple hair. 'Where do they get their hair colors from?' Garrick thought. Garrick himself was a sight. He had blue hair, with a little silver tint. He was wearing a black tanktop with a red vest over it. His pants were black too, with a little yellow highlighting at the bottom. He wore silver boots. He let out his Gyrados, Aggron, Blaziken, Charizard, and Typhlosion. Gyrados leaped into the water with a roar which frightened some Pokemon on the boat. Blaziken practiced its fighting techniques with a Machamp of another trainer nearby. Aggron started eating the ship railing, which got him scolding from Garrick. Charizard flew around, without anything much to do. Typhlosion target practiced with fireballs on Magikarp that leapt out of the water. Blaziken eventually overpowered the Machamp, who was sent flying. The trainer who owned the Machamp said, "WHOAH! I've never seen my Machamp beaten in a fighting match. My names Kailua. Yours?" Kailua asked. "Its Garrick Jinko. Want to have a match later?" Garrick said. She thought."Hmm,maybe after I eat." Kailua said happily.
