Hi! So this is not my first fanfiction, but I am still pretty nervous. So I hope this isn't won't be too cliche, but I have worked really hard on this story, and I hope you enjoy it! Ready happily and love each other! -sparklyrainbowpie

It was late. The cold December air swirled around, sending snowflakes spiraling around the tower. A slow, unsteady beat came from outside as the snow upon the roof melted and dripped down to the earth. He looked up at the painfully ironic sky through his bedroom window, his heart heavy and his mind exhausted. The grey scale of Jump City resembled the way he felt inside; cold and gloomy.

But, on second thought, gloomy didn't even begin to describe the way Garfield was feeling. His pain longed for emotional release, but he wouldn't allow it. It would only make it worse in the end, the pain reminding him of all those days he spent with his uncle so many years ago. Raven: she had taken it too far today. He had grown accustomed to her snide remarks and over all demeaning attitude towards him, but today she had taken it from playful bantering, to hurting him so badly he had resorted to his room hours ago, not to come out again that night.

He closed his eyes as he layed on his bed, begging the gods for sleep to wash over him, to rinse away the words Raven has uttered upon him, and the memories that surfaced with them. What really bothered him, was the fact that he hadn't done anything to insult her, annoy her, or anger her. He had replayed the situation in his mind for hours, pouring over the details as he combed through everything he had done to see what had provoked her to say those things. But he came up with nothing. It was as if she had just said it for the sake of saying it.

"You look like you're going to spend your life having one epiphany after another, always thinking you've finally figured out how you can fit in, and how you can finally have normal life. But nothing will ever change. You will always be the same idiotic orphan you have always been. Don't you realize no one likes you? We all put up with you Beast Boy. And honestly, I am absolutely sick of pretending to care about you, when I really couldn't care any less."

The words swirled around his head like the snow outside. What in Gods name had caused her to say that? She just up and said it, before running away to her bedroom. He never knew Raven had felt so strongly about him. When the rest of the team heard, they were silent. No one had known what to say. All Garfield had done was let a small sob erupt from his lips before running off. No one had come to talk to him since.

Deciding that he was sick of thinking about it, he let out a long sigh, finding a spot on his pillow that wasn't soaked with tears, and willed sleep to come.
