A/N: I know I'm doing a lot of songfics lately, but I couldn't bring myself to look at my WIPs… ((Shudders)) Sequel to One Friend.

Catch The Tears

Zack, Ben, Tinga, Brin, Jack, Eva. Now Logan.

He'd been there for her during every moment of heartbreak. He'd been the shoulder she'd cried on, the pillar she clung onto, the port in her storm.

To you
I'm just a friend.
That's, where it ends,
To you.

But the thanks and the trust she gave to him was worth it.

That's who I am,
Someone that you can come to.
When somebody breaks your heart, to talk to,
Someone who always cares.

He couldn't care less about Logan. But she seemed to be hurting so very badly, taking the break up in the worst way possible.

It was as if she still loved him.

Your heart's with someone else.
But who's always there?

But where was Logan when Max almost died during her seizures the other day? Saving the world over saving her life?

The git.

Who's always there to catch the tears
When they fall?
Who do you run to?
Who do you always call?
Who's there with a shoulder, when you're feeling sad?
When will you see me as more than that?
Who's always there to catch the tears?

Every night – since she broke up with Logan and told him in no uncertain terms that she would not be coming back – she had completely broken down in his arms. Every night without fail, tears would cascade down her face, a silent grieving over what could have been.

To me,
You're everything, you're all I need,
To me.

It didn't help that she was so blinded by her tears she couldn't see how much he was hurting too. It killed him to see her hurt this much. It also killed him to see her waste her tears on that sanctimonious idiot.

That's who I see, someone I'd love to run to.
To hold in my hands at night, to come to.
Someone to share my life.

But he couldn't do anything about it. She trusted him, but that didn't mean she would listen to him. To be honest, he wouldn't listen to himself either if he was in her place. Just someone to wipe away the tears and tell her everything was going to be okay.

Your heart's with someone else,
But who's standing by?

She still loved him. It was so obvious. The way she cried every night for at least a week now. It killed him to know that she still loved Logan when he was always there.

Who's standing by to catch the tears
When they fall?
Who do you run to?
Who do you always call?
Who's there with a shoulder when you're feeling sad?
When will you see me as more than that?

A shoulder always there for her to cry on. Someone always there to listen.

Oh, I wish you would see me as more than just a friend.

But nothing more. Never more.

You come to
When somebody breaks your heart
To talk to.
Someone who always cares.

Was it that impossible to have a relationship with him? Was he really that annoying?

Your heart's with someone else,
But who's always there?

Obviously he was. Why else would she never even consider him?

Who's always there to catch the tears
When they fall?
Who do you run to?
Who do you always call?
Who's there with a shoulder when you're feeling sad?
When will you see me as more than that?
Who's always there to catch the tears?

He sighed when he heard soft cries coming from the office beside his.

"Here we go again," he muttered to himself as he got up, steeling himself for the sight of a strong woman's tears.

Catch the tears…
