Because in my last fic, AvianReader requested that I try my hand at Euphemia's thoughts just before being Geassed. I hope you'll settle for during the massacre.

"Lelouch, did you honestly believe that just by threatening me I would shoot you?" Euphemia asked, giggling at her brother. She caught a glimpse of red in his left eye, but then it was gone and the eye was back to being the same shade of amethyst as its twin.

"Actually, when I really want someone to follow my orders, they will not resist me. For example, if I told you to kill all the Japanese, it wouldn't matter how you felt about it…" At those words, Euphemia saw the red in that eye once again. It was captivating, seeing that sigil in his eye, almost like a bird. As she stared, the bird appeared to move, wings flapping and flying toward her. Her world went red for a moment, and a voice began to chant in her head: "Kill all the Japanese. Leave none alive."

"B-but I don't want to kill them," she whispered, hoping the voice would just go away. 'I can't kill them. They finally have their freedom; I can't possibly take that away.' She argued with herself.

"Kill all the Japanese," the voice commanded again. Now that she listened, it sounded a lot like Lelouch… 'No! I can't do that! What about Suzaku, and all the Japanese out there? I promised them a new life, and I have to go through with it! The Specially Administrated Zone has to hap—' Her body began to move then without her consent, moving forward. Her hands picked up the ceramic and bamboo gun Lelouch had offered, and her legs began to run out, following the path back to the stage. 'No, this can't be happening!' Euphemia thought, helpless to stop herself. She winced when she heard her own voice address the crowd: "All you who call yourselves Japanese: Could you die, please?" When no one responded, Euphemia felt her finger pull the trigger of her gun, shooting an elderly man in the front row. Her face wore a smile, though inside the princess was screaming out to stop, to run, to do anything but this. She heard her own voice give the order, watched as the Britannian soldiers around her killed every Japanese man, woman, and child in sight. She felt the weight of the automatic weapon in her hands, heard the dying cries of the people she had promised a new life to. She was forced to watch the flag of Japan was stained with blood and torn by gunfire. She heard the cries of "Massacre Princess" from those still alive. 'No, that's not true! I only wanted to help Japan!'

When Lelouch descended from the Gawain, she wanted to call out to him, beg him to end this. She relished the feeling of the bullet sliding into her and stopping the beat that kept this massacre going.

Not bad for being written during my Holocaust class, huh?
