I woke up screaming with horrible dreams about the games. But Peeta's strong and comforting arms were not there to grasp me away from these dreams. He has been in a Victor's tour for male Tributes. As I dragged my self out of bed I surpassed a Mirror that had a gold embroidering on the sides of it. I can see that my eyes were puffy and red. I walked to the door to exit my headquarters and there they were. Effie Haymitch and Johanna. She was of course a mess like most of the time but I can see her beautiful hair was starting to grow back. "Johanna I think your hair is growing out!" She gave out a small smile. Surprisingly I let one out too. "Katniss!" said Effie all peppy as always. "Good morning Effie and Haymitch." As I walk across to the dinning room area were we are going to eat breakfast I look around this house. I contemplate how amazing it is. It is so luxurious and grand in size. I remember how my mother and Prim slept in the room across me. But now that there gone this house is so empty. So lonely. The only people that live here are Johanna, Peeta and myself. "So Katniss later on this week you will meet your new stylist and prep team!" "How exciting!" said Effie. I let out a deep sigh. "Very." Just the thought of somebody replacing Cinna, Octavia, Venia, and Flavius makes me sick to my stomach. What if they didn't understand me the same way Cinna did? What if they want my head on a stick? They are Capitol people. These questions jumble in my head. Suddenly Haymitch pulls me away from Effie and Johanna we go to the Library in my house. "Take a seat for this Katniss." Said Haymitch in the softest tone I've ever heard him speak in this tone. Oh no I think. I must brace my self for the news he is going to give me. I'm prepared for the worst. But praying for the best. Haymitch takes a deep breathe before he speaks. "Well how do I put this in words." Said Haymitch. "Spite it out Haymitch!" I said with no patience in my soul. "Gale has been in intensive care for the past two months." "Nobody knows how his injury ever occurred, though but it occurred in district twelve were he is working as a solider." My heart skipped a beat. But I don't know why I felt this way. I remember. It was the day before the reaping. We were in the meadow in the Seam under the willow tree. He reached out for my hand for the first time. We interlocked fingers. And our compassion and love for each other feed our hungry parched souls. But I could not find out why I felt like this. My heart belongs to Peeta. Then Haymitch's voice brought me back to reality. "Pack your things," I say. "Were going to district two."
