James/Lily
It was time. Everything had been planned to the slightest detail. Nothing would be allowed to go wrong—with Peter as their Secret Keeper how could it? But it did nothing to ease the worry of Lily's heart, and James knew that. He also knew that she was terrified the somehow Voldemort would find them…and kill Harry.
It just isn't right. He's only a baby! Why would anybody want to hurt him? Especially with those eyes, James thought, looking at his son. He has his mother's eyes.
Harry reached out for James' finger, causing a smile to cross his face.
"We could take him, Lily. Just take Harry and never look back. Away from here, from all this," said James, bringing Harry into his arms and looking up at her pleadingly.
"You could never do that," Said Lily, shaking her head. "You're a Gryffindor—you would never leave the boys here, to fight without you. It's one of the things I love most about you James."
He looked up at her, the corner of his mouth lifting up in a half-hearted attempt of a smile, "No chance I could convince you to run for it then?"
She came around behind him, wrapping her arms around his shoulder, "Nothing in this world would take Harry and me away from you, James, nothing and nobody."
