A/N: This is a random idea Timeristic gave me a few days ago. It's in my 'How Did I Get Myself Into This?' universe, so if you haven't read it, you might want to before you read this one. However, it is a bit more developed then HDIGMIT is at the moment, so you need to know a few things. 1: Stony is official, 2: Loki is an Avenger for reasons I won't go into, and 3: Tony & Maglor had a fight that ended with Maglor drawing his sword and slamming it into the arc reactor. The sword shattered and the pieces went into his throat. He'll never speak or sing again.

"Kano? Kano!"

"Tony, shaking him and screaming his name isn't going to make him wake up."
"I don't want him to wake up and I do at the same time. It's my fault his sword is broken, it's my fault he'll never speak again; it's all my fault."
Maglor struggled to fight off the haze surrounding his thoughts. Steve and Tony were arguing. "That's nothing new." He thought and tried to say it aloud, but for some strange reason; he couldn't. "What's going on?" He thought desperately, hoping Loki was around to read his thoughts.

He was comforted by a familiar presence touching his mind, and a soft hand grasped his shoulder. "He's awake." Everything instantly went deathly quiet. Maglor opened his mouth to try and break the silence, but no words came out.

"Your sword shattered and the pieces went into your throat. They were able to save your life, but they went too deep into your neck. You'll neve-"

"-Sing again." Maglor tried to say, but it came out as merely a whispered thought. Loki nodded. "They don't think you'll be able to speak ever again, but you're an elf, so you just might."
"But I won't be able to sing." Loki's shoulders slumped and he bowed his head before nodding. "No, you won't." and with those words, Maglor's heart snapped into even more pieces then it had ever been in.
