Beck was standing in the hallway getting books out of his locker when he saw Tori. He walked over to her and asked
"Hey Tori, what'd you think of Sikowitz's class?" He was surprised when her eyes widened and she had what looked like fear in her eyes. She very quickly walked away, ignoring him. 'Why'd she do that?'he thought, confused.
Later that day, he saw Trina walking to the Grub Truck and intercepted her.
"Why are you standing in my way?" Trina asked, annoyed
"Tori's afraid of me. Why?"
Trina knew all about the skipping school incident.
"Tori was physically abused by our babysitter when she was six years old. It was one time and my parents promptly fired and arrested the sitter but what happened with you probably stirred up old memories." Trina said
"Oh my God. I had no idea." Beck said, shocked "I gotta go talk to her. Thanks Trina."
Beck said, going off to find Tori. He found her at a table alone, and he quickly took a seat and said
"Now before you run off, I want to apologize for what I did to you. It was wrong and I am so sorry. I want you to trust me again; I can't lose one of my best friends."
Tori looked at him for a moment, contemplating whether to forgive him or not.
'Should I? I mean, he apologized. But he did hurt me.'
After a few moments of thinking she made her decision.
"I forgive you." she said, "But it's going to be hard to trust you again"
Beck smiled.
"Great! And I'm going to do everything I can to get you to trust me again."
And he did. Throughout the rest of the school year, he was kind to Tori, and even stood up for her when Jade was being mean to her once.
And his efforts did not go unrewarded. On the last day of school, Tori walked up to him smiling and said
"I trust you."
Beck grinned from ear to ear. It worked; he'd gained her trust back.
