A Different Side of Ms. Mullins
Disclaimer: I do not own any part of the School of Rock. I only wish I did lol.
Author's Note: If you read this, please, please, please review it. I know it doesn't always happen because truthfully, I don't always review, but I would really like it. Anyhow, let's get on with the story!
You know everyone has their off days, and Rosaline Mullins was no exception. She might have been Principal of Horace Green prep school but that made no difference. She hadn't felt like herself in weeks, she knew why, yet would never admit it.
After she found out that one of her substitutes, Ned Schneebly, was really a former band member, Dewey Finn, she'd felt completely betrayed. Many times, before she found out who he really was she caught herself having feelings for him. When she caught herself she would quickly try to push it out of her mind, but it was always there.
In front of her was a stack of papers almost an inch thick, all waiting for her signature. On the very top was a picture. It showed her and Dewey in the front with the rest of the band in the back. She and Dewey both had their hands raised, him with a guitar in one hand and her hand clasped tightly in the other, her other hand balled up in a fist as if punching the air. On both of their faces were looks of sheer joy mixed with unbelievable excitement. She couldn't believe that it had been just two weeks ago when "The School of Rock" played their first battle of the bands, and she'd finally let herself truly fall for him.
For most of the day she'd been staring at that picture, completely ignoring the rest of the world. She was happy just to be back in that moment, just to be holding his hand and standing by his side. She would never forget the feeling of being in his arms, even just for a split second, it just felt magical.
She was just about to put the picture away, to lock up her memories until another day. When outside she heard her favorite Stevie Nicks song. She quickly got out of her seat, leaving the picture forgotten on the top of the stack, and rushing over to the window. There she found a familiar dark brown van with a man standing outside, badly singing to the music.
A wide smile appeared on her face as she saw who it was. Without a thought, she flew out of her office and down the stairs. She didn't stop until she was in his arms once again.
She suddenly realized something and backed away slightly, "What are you doing here?" I thought you were supposed to go touring with the kids?"
He just smiled, "Yeah the kids got homesick so we decided to cut it short, just until summer."
"But what are you doing here, back at Horace Green?"
"I just came to see you, see what's kickin' back at the old place."
She could no longer look him in the eye, "Is that the only reason?"
"Not the only reason. I came to ask you something, actually two things."
"And they would be?"
"One, would you come with us this summer while we're on tour."
"And the other?"
"Would you come as my… girlfriend?" He asked smirking slightly.
It took her a second for everything to sink in, "A…as your girlfriend?"
"Well yeah, all band members need one. I thought you'd be the only one who could keep up."
"The only one who could keep up? Are you serious?"
"Hell yeah. You're the only one who could do female vocals. You with that Stevie Nicks voice."
"Only you." She laughed, and hugged him again.
After about a minute he pulled back and said, "Well if you're going to be my girl, I have to know one thing."
"Which is?"
"Hello, if you're a good kisser!" he said smiling evilly.
She was happy to reply with an extremely passionate kiss. Everything seemed to melt away as he deepened it. They were oblivious to the whole world while they kissed. And that was how it was for the rest of their lives.
The End
