Chapter 1: Everything and yet Nothing

[Axel was dead. He died saving Sora and thus Roxas as well. What could be a better way to go out then betraying your organization, saving your best friend, and exploding? If that wasn't enough to prove he had a heart after all he didn't know what was. Now all he could do was float in darkness. Death reeked all over him. Even though he was dead, he could never have felt happier. He had done his job. Saving Roxas and Sora was all he had wanted. Finally he could go in peace.]

A: I guess…this is the final curtain for me…

[Suddenly there was a blinding light above him and he winced.]

A: W-What...Light?

[There was a blur of rainbow as he appeared standing in a beautiful oasis of different colored roses. It was a heavenly sunrise and he inhaled the rose's glorious scents. He felt as if he had been here before. It was all so vaguely familiar. Why did he feel so at home here? Then he realized that he was alive. He blinked and put a hand over his heart.]

A: I'm…alive? …But how?

[Then he looked over to a gorgeous rose covered gazebo to see a woman in a flowing gold dress. She looked like a goddess…no…better. He approached her without fear or caution, which was very unusual for Axel when he saw strangers. However, he had this odd feeling that he knew this woman. That he had nothing to fear from her. He went and stood beside her as she looked out at the sunset. She turned her head and smiled warmly at him. What was even stranger was that it was Larxene. He remembered how he had deceived her in Castle Oblivion. For some reason, at this time, he had this alluring attraction to her like he had never had before and yet it felt so familiar…so right. Like they were destined to stand like this together and watch the sunset. It didn't make any sense and yet it felt so natural and perfect. Come to think of it. None of this made sense to him. Why wasn't he dead? Why was he brought here? Why is Larxene here? So many questions ran through his head, yet he could not mouth a single one. He finally got up the breath to talk.]

A: L-Larxene?

Lx: Yes, Axel. It's me. Do you remember this place? We would always watch the sunset from this cliff.

[Even though he couldn't remember a single thing Larxene was mentioning, he felt as if she was speaking the truth. He felt at peace here, like he belonged with her here.]

Lx: You won't remember immediately Axel. I brought you here because we're both in danger. The gods are the ones who killed us and made us Nobodies because we are stronger than they are. They are jealous of our power and are afraid that we will surpass them. We are everything and yet we are nothing. We have such a complicated past my love. I fear I cannot tell you everything right now. You must try to remember on your own.

[She turned to him and leaned in and kisses his cheek. Axel's heart almost stopped. He wanted so desperately to kiss her back, but she simply pulled away and smiled up at him.]

Lx: I will see you soon my darling in a different world and a different form. Don't give up hope. Don't ever stop listening to your heart. I love you.

[The world around them began to distort and crumble. Axel felt himself falling and once again he was plunged into darkness.]
